Re: New! 37F apoe3/4 in NYC, Mom (71, apoe3/4) is Pending Alzheimer's Dx
An update: On July 12, 2023, my beloved mom died at the age of 74 due to rapidly advancing Alzheimer's (she went from stage 4 to 7 in just two years), severe osteoporosis, and multiple myeloma (which was diagnosed in July 2022). Literally no intervention could slow the tide of horror, every 3 month...

Re: any thoughts on progesterone?
Though I don't have the source offhand, I recall that there's some evidence that cycling progesterone (such as taking one week off per month or varying dose throughout the month) to mimic the ups and downs of a natural cycle helped mitigate the cognition concerns. Though I'm not able to go digging b...

Re: Mom was diagnosed at 71. Am I doomed to younger-onset AD?
Hello again, it's been a while since I've posted thanks to my mom's rapid decline (she was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma and is now entering middle dementia at just 73 years old). And, as my concerns about her decline grow, so too do my fears about my own future. Recently, I read an arti...

Re: an E4/E4 brain CAN recover
Soooo, as someone who was just diagnosed with a mild concussion today and freaking out about it due to being a 3/4, reading this brought me tremendous relief. For the record, I gave myself a concussion in the most ridiculous way: springing up from the bed due to a night terror and then letting mysel...

Re: 38F 3/4 Worried Re:Bloodwork. Input much appreciated.
BTW, your glucose and homocysteine numbers are something to be proud of! I have to take 5000iu Vitamin D (with K) a day just to maintain 50 ng/dl. Been doing that for years and I’ve never been able to break 50. Don’t be afraid to supplement at those levels - everyone is different. And your protein ...

38F 3/4 Worried Re:Bloodwork. Input much appreciated.
Well, I just got my annual physical and it's a mix of good news/bad news. The good? Fasting glucose is 76 and my A1C is 4.9% (down from 5.6% in 2016). Also, my homocysteine is 6.6%, and while I could stand to raise my vitamin D from 36 (on it), it's not terrible. The bad? My cholesterol scares me. I...

Re: mthfd1 mutations
thank you so much for your reply ! is there a reason you take CDP choline as opposed to phosphatidyl choline ? how much are you taking. I can't find any guidance online I started taking CDP because there's some evidence that it's more easily converted to acetylcholine than PD. Depending on if I eat...

Re: mthfd1 mutations
hello! I recently completed a 23 and me genetic analysis and found I have a mutation in my mthfd1 (and PEMT) that predisposes me to choline deficiency. Seeing that acetylcholine is essential for sleep, emotional well being and has an important role in alzheimer, I was wondering if anyone here takes...
