Re: More fat sources for calories? Too many nuts?
When I last checked, it was 89 mg/dL. which is a lot less. So 89 is good. How many carbs are you taking with the protein? When mixed, the protein will add to BG. It would be interesting if you tried something pure protein and tested and then also protein + fat and tested. 0. I ate no carbs. It seem...

Re: More fat sources for calories? Too many nuts?
My understanding is that too much protein will raise your blood sugar and kick you out of ketosis. Indeed, my glucose can remain at 106 mg/dL even 3.5 hours of eating when I eat twice this amount of protein. I'm curious what your glucose is after 3.5 hours when you eat your normal amount of protein...

Re: Apoe4 Gundry List of Foods
Sorry to hear about your frustration. I am a ApoE4/E3 and I too get frustrated when I about these dietary restrictions for ApoE4s, especially when I am not much of a fan of olive oil and avocados. Regarding salmon, I do remember Ivor Cummins mentioning several times that his former sponsor David Bob...

More fat sources for calories? Too many nuts?
I eat oily fish and an avocado, but I need more calories. I already get 54 g of protein from the fish that I eat. When I do not eat fish, I eat the same amount of protein from extra lean chicken breasts and supplement with a tablespoon of cod liver oil. My understanding is that too much protein will...

Replacing olives and EVOO with nuts and seeds?
Is it okay to eat most of your fat from nuts and seeds (walnuts, pistachios, etc.) rather than olives and EVOO? I find nuts and seeds to be tastier but I read a lot of people saying that they have too much omega-6s to be eaten regularly. I am taking 4 capsules of fish oil and 1 capsule of krill oil ...

Re: Introduction and Help With ApoE4 Diet
Hi Julie, I haven't posted here for a while. Been dealing with a lot of stress and poor sleep. I recently bought a bunch of tests through Dave Feldman and Siobhan Huggins' OwnYourLabs website. My LDL-P, LDL-C, Lp-PLA2, and oxidized LDL were all really high. My small LDL-P, large VLDL-P, HDL-P were a...

Re: Introduction and Help With ApoE4 Diet
Thanks SBee, I'm still going through the ApoE4 wiki. A lot of information. I have also been watching Nicholas Norwitz videos and he has posted several of them about ApoE4. Sabby Sabby, Thanks for your additional posts. I am not familiar with Nicholas Norwitz but definitely interested in viewing his...

Re: Introduction and Help With ApoE4 Diet
Is there anything I can eat besides avocados, olive oil, oily fish, shellfish, lean meat, egg whites, fat free dairy, and non-starchy vegetables? Hi Sabby! I'm not quite sure how you arrived at that list of foods, some of which- lean meats, egg whites, and fat-free dairy are NOT foods I would chose...

Introduction and Help With ApoE4 Diet
