Re: Soon to be trying Melatonin for the first time...

Thanks for the response. I had a strange experience with my first time taking it; am somewhat hesitant to do it again but I will look into the link, thanks.

Soon to be trying Melatonin for the first time...

So after years of not trying it and with years of sleep problems behind me I am going to try Melatonin; I live in Germany so it requires a prescription, which was the reason I never bothered in the past because multiple doctors told me that I am not old enough (am 44 now), but recently my sleep has ...

Re: Best way to get comprehensive baseline bloodwork/labs?

I don't live in the US, however, Dr. Richard Isaacson is based at Cornell in NYC (afaik) and is one of the top neurologists in the field of preventative Alzheimer's. He has been on the Drive with Peter Attia and I believe they are friends. He does extensive bloodwork testing based on what I have hea...

Re: 4/4 diet confusion

Hopefullynotdoomed , this is is very helpful and something I didn’t know re the breakdown of the DHA. I suppose I can ‘force’ myself to eat the oily fish , perhaps with a nice dressing to hide the fishiness lol . I was just hoping not to have to if I could take supplements instead . I will however ...

Re: 4/4 diet confusion

Thanks for the responses. I think I’m more worried because I don’t like salmon/mackerel or shellfish and apparently 4/4’s are advised to avoid chicken & beef - so it doesn’t leave much ! Also the fact that Bredesen says no dairy and that included in Keto so that’s that out ..... Is it ok to sup...

Thanks for the response. I was never good at meditation but I suppose I will have to work on it. I tend to get distracted rather easily. Thanks again

Thank you for the response TWBD. I was on the fence about the neurologist; your post kind of sealed the deal. I think in lieu of that I should get my bloodwork done as it has been a while. Thanks again.

How do you not define yourself by your APOE4 status?

I have had chronic insomnia for many years, sometimes it has been worse, other times, better but I remember a phase for about 2 years when it was really, really bad. I began to think of myself as insomnia, not a person who suffers from it because of how relentless and constant it was. Now I find mys...

Thoughts/Questions On Keto...

I wanted to ask people here if they have had similar experiences to me with long term fasting (24 hours+) and ketogenic nutrition in general. For reasons I will go into I avoid both; I regularly intermittent fast (average about 18-20 hours between eating) but having had very negative experiences wit...

Re: 3/4 here, new, mother dying of Alzheimers...

Thank you all for the informative and supportive responses. I fully plan to take advantage of the information here and implement it accordingly. With luck despair won't consume me. Thanks again!

P.S. I will check out the info about oxalates.
