Re: Stavia's Vegetarian very low fat trial

Hi kimberlamb - no I never did it properly, it was just far too hard to work out the macros to fit with what is optimal for me. The protein was really difficult to get to 60 grams (which I find best for me) while keeping the carbs low enough and the fat high enough. All whole food vegetarian protein...

Re: vasodilators safe? rogaine, Viagra etc?

Theres no evidence that Viagra is a problem. Minoxidil ditto.
All vasodilators are not one class, there are many mechanisms of action. One cannot lump them together.

Re: Any other options for prostate cancer treatment other than suppressing testosterone?

TheBrain, bony metastases in prostate cancer are unfortunately incurable and treatment is palliative. Anti-testosterone therapy does reduce tumor progression which untreated inevitably leads to bony pain. It sounds that with his alcoholic issues and current cognition, the difference in his cognitive...

Re: I guess I'll be taking a statin

Whatnext, there are a whole lot of subtext things going on here for you that I can see. Its a really complicated situation you are in. The USA medical milieu is obsessed with lipids, which makes the lay population obsessed too. I see it over and over again in the forum posts. It is a thing specific ...

Re: Klonopin and CFIDS/epilepsy

Daymoo, are you on clonazepam for epilepsy? I see Cheney's website/book is quite old. 2001. He also uses doxepin which wouldnt be my choice in dementia prevention or in the elderly, its rather sedating. Chronic fatigue is poorly understood and there are many competing theories. None are proven witho...

Re: RE: Re: How do I stop freaking out about this?

I guess what I’m asking here is: how long does it take for me to not worry about this anymore? I know I’m going to live a happy life, even if I were to get AD, but it’s hard getting to that point. My apologies for the incredibly selfish ramble. My suggestion is to assume the worst case, you get AD ...

Re: How do I stop freaking out about this?

Hi daydreams and welcome. You have got some really good advice here from members whose opinion I value very highly. I would like to add that I see patients from time to time who can't stop thinking about a particular health anxiety - maybe a risk of cancer, or heart attack, or stroke or maybe someth...

Re: Welcome!!!

Hi MagicBean and welcome. Thanks for reading the Primer. The objective truth is that there is no obviously universally true theory with regard to lipids - it is all opinion and individual interpretation of the murky evidence. There are at least a couple of opposing camps - and each has good and conf...
