Re: High P-Tau 217 Results on Brainscan
Hello Everyone, Thank you to members of this board. Your intelligent discussions inspire me and give me hope. I am new to this board. I am a ApoE4 heterozygote. I have exceeding strong family history of AD (includes grandmother, one aunt, one uncle, and 2 cousins with AD). Since it runs so strongly...

Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
I just received my homotaurine from supersmart. My last subscription order went through like 2 months ago and I had emailed them and gotten the stuck in customs response, so that must have been true and it cleared or they were able to reorder. I was taking one a day and then switched to one or two ...

Re: Hello, i did a MyHeritage test!
For info rs7412 result is CC but unfortunately without the other one i cant check if i'm apoE4.. do you think rsid could have changed number ? Unlikely. You might contact MyHeritage about this, maybe they could rerun your sample? Some have suggested having a kit shipped to a friend in a neighboring...

Re: Hello, i did a MyHeritage test!
Hello everyone, Rebounding on this post as mentionning MyHeriage dna. I've seen some videos about the link between apoE and Alzheimer or nutrition to adopt and I did a MyHeritage Dna test back in 2022 when we could do it in France (not anymore). So i have looked for both rsid rs429358 & rs7412 ...

Re: New E4/E4 Needing Encouragement
Kerrin, I am so glad my response was helpful. Yes in deed, you do have tremendous HOPE! We have so many members who can attest to that. Many who are also 4/4, in the their 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond, and are living their best lives with no cognitive issues. Alzheimer's can be prevented. It really d...

Re: New E4/E4 Needing Encouragement
Hi, One month ago, I found out that I am E4/E4. I am terrified. I have been trying to do some research so I can start preventative measures as I do not think I have any symptoms yet. But I am 57, and from what I have read, it seems like I most likely already have the brain pathology associated with...

Re: Blood tests
Hi Laurie, I will definitely look into seeing a health coach. Do you think it beats seeing a genetic counselor? I just had an intake call with one from Columbia University Medical Center (I live in NY). Based on what she told me, it seems like seeing her would be a waste of time and money. If she c...

Re: Root cause of Alzheimer's may be fat buildup in brain cells, especially in ApoE4s?
This makes so much sense to me since we know that in the periphery, cholesterol buildup is an issue for apoe4's, why wouldn't it also be an issue in the brain. So therefore, a statin may actually be helpful for this purpose as well. Of course, we don't want to deplete the brain cholesterol too much...

Re: Mould / CIRS Patient - Treatment for lateral ventricles?
Hi, I'm a mould / CIRS patient who has made something of a good recovery. I increased my hippocampal volumes from the 9th to 69th percentile and total brain volume from the 6th to 45th percentile. I did not make much of a dent in shrinking enlarged lateral ventricles: 97th percentile. I have looked...
