Re: New E4/E4 Needing Encouragement
Kerrin, I am so glad my response was helpful. Yes in deed, you do have tremendous HOPE! We have so many members who can attest to that. Many who are also 4/4, in the their 60's, 70's, 80's and beyond, and are living their best lives with no cognitive issues. Alzheimer's can be prevented. It really d...

Re: New E4/E4 Needing Encouragement
Hi, One month ago, I found out that I am E4/E4. I am terrified. I have been trying to do some research so I can start preventative measures as I do not think I have any symptoms yet. But I am 57, and from what I have read, it seems like I most likely already have the brain pathology associated with...

Re: Blood tests
Hi Laurie, I will definitely look into seeing a health coach. Do you think it beats seeing a genetic counselor? I just had an intake call with one from Columbia University Medical Center (I live in NY). Based on what she told me, it seems like seeing her would be a waste of time and money. If she c...

Re: Blood tests
Thank you for this information. What about choline? Isn’t that also important? Hello Eniluap, My name is Laurie, I am a Support Team Intern here on this forum. I noticed your recent posts and can certainly understand your questioning and concern about how to best care for yourself. I would first li...

Re: Root cause of Alzheimer's may be fat buildup in brain cells, especially in ApoE4s?
This makes so much sense to me since we know that in the periphery, cholesterol buildup is an issue for apoe4's, why wouldn't it also be an issue in the brain. So therefore, a statin may actually be helpful for this purpose as well. Of course, we don't want to deplete the brain cholesterol too much...

Re: Mould / CIRS Patient - Treatment for lateral ventricles?
Hi, I'm a mould / CIRS patient who has made something of a good recovery. I increased my hippocampal volumes from the 9th to 69th percentile and total brain volume from the 6th to 45th percentile. I did not make much of a dent in shrinking enlarged lateral ventricles: 97th percentile. I have looked...

Re: Virtual Meet-up (formerly called Book Club: The End of Alzheimer's Program)
I just finished the book. I have the apoe4 gene and have been diagnosed with beginning stage of Alzheimer’s. The only thing I ever received from my birth father is this gene. J have been changing my diet, increased exercise, and read Dr. Bredesen’s book. He has given me hope that I can reverse thin...

Re: New here
Hi! I'm a 37 year old Canadian woman and I have two copies of APOE e4. I'm looking into ways to best prevent AD. I'm new to this forum (although I've been reading about some topics for a couple of weeks now). My particular question today is about diet. I've looked at the ReCode program from Dr. Bre...

Re: Has anyone else gotten the new Abeta 42/40 test?
I am new to this site and am very appreciative of all the comments about Quest and Abeta 42/40 because I just got my results from them with a good PTAU and the ABETA in RED! ABETA 40 208 pg/mL See Note 1 ABETA 42/40 RATIO 0.144 L Reference Range: > OR = 0.170 Plasma beta-amyloid 42/40 ratio Risk Ta...

Re: Fecal microbiota transplantation alleviated Alzheimer's disease-like pathogenesis in APP/PS1 transgenic mice
I think it makes sense to pay attention to diversity of the gut biome, but if noticing subjective symtpoms, wouldn't it make sense to do a one-time transplant to stop the process?? It seems like such an elegant solution; I wish a lab would do this study, even in mice or rats..... There is quite a l...
