Re: My Story and Questions !BUMP

I have gotten this exact same gene hot when putting my raw data in that same sight, can someone help clarify this? Or explain it in better terms Hi cloud girl7! I'm guessing that the gene variant you're referring to is rs669 , but if it is something else from your Promethease report, let us know. E...

Re: She seemed cured, then she wasn't

Hello Gang, I show up again.... After 4 years of trying to defeat my wife's insulin level, we were victorious. She's E4 Alzheimer's. With the insulin lowered, her new memory took off like a rocket. She was remembering everything! Now, three weeks later, it's the same old story, she remembers very l...

Re: Dutch Woman With Dementia Euthanized Against Her Will. The Doctor Was Just Cleared Of Wrongdoing.

In my limited experience (ADx2), the burden can be huge before the more advanced stage, when/if the person is trying to live independently and learn new things even though they can't, constantly calling for help with this and that because they're taking on more than they're capable of and some frie...

Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

Importantly, by dual selecting on tau and amyloid, TB2 introduced the possibility that patients of all genotypes could achieve a strong treatment gain. It might then no longer be proper to compare TB2 results to those of other mab trials. I greatly wish that we will have more information about the ...

Re: Heterozygous for RAB10 & SAR1A

Wow, that's incredibly exciting. So, as you read it, as an APOE 4/4 and RAB10 (rs142787485 AG), it could reduce my risk by 2/3 or potentially that of an APOE 3/3 person? I may just get that cheeseburger! Still great news, but have to adjust slightly because I forgot that you (like me) have ApoE 4/4...

Re: Heterozygous for RAB10 & SAR1A

I have the APOE 4/4 gene but recently discovered through Nebula that I am also heterozygous for the RAB10 (rs142787485 AG) and SAR1A (rs7653 AG) variants. I can't tell from the study I read if being heterozygous confers any protection or if you need to be homozygous to benefit. Does anyone has any ...

Re: Philadelphia area

Anyone in the Philly/New Jersey/Delaware/Maryland area interested in a meet-up? Hi from someone who went to college in Philly and still loves the area, although I live further south now. (What's not to love about a place with great colleges, great sports, great pretzels, great history and great peo...

Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

... Additional results for Dona suggested that the APOE e4-s did not respond to treatment. This was what we seemed to see with other trials and yet Clarity reported a strong e4- result. I am not sure whether I could unambiguously accept a miss for the APOE 4- in Trailblazer given these previous fin...

Re: Best brain scan to detect pre-symptomatic Alzheimer's

I'm curious what the best brain scan is to see how you are doing (Alzheimer's wise, of course). Not something used in research studies, but something you might be able to get a doctor in the US to prescribe. I don't have any symptoms, but I'm a 3/4 and am middle-aged, and I often wonder if I alread...
