Re: Alzheon ALZ-801 results presentations tomorrow

Ah, this is the Ph2, not the P3, my mistake. If I remember right this is an open label, no placebo trial. I'm still excited about this data based on the decline in the tau and the hippocampal atrophy proportion compared to the ADNI cohort. I'm sure you're right that there were a loss of participant...

Re: Dr. Nate Bergman- Kemper Cognitive Wellness, Cleveland, OH

I am grateful I found Dr. Bergman! I am APOE 4/4 and I have started to experience some mild symptoms. My mom has dementia and I sought out care for prevention, however my initial cognitive testing showed low-average scores in several memory domains! Dr. Bergman gave me a comprehensive plan that inc...

Re: Apoe4 /4 a new genetic variant of Alzheimer’s ??

A survey of apoe4.info user would be neither random nor imply that we are all following the same protocols, nor have the same demographics. It especially wouldn't show how many of us have elevated amyloid or tau. And having those would not predict at what age we might show cognitive symptoms. Great...

Re: New to the Forum - 4/4 Carrier

Hello - my name is David and I recently discovered I am a carrier of the 4/4 gene. I am 38 years old. I have dove into books and completely changed my eating and workout habits. Here’s hoping for the best. Welcome, David! On behalf of all of this community, and as a member of the Senior Support tea...

Re: Apoe4 /4 a new genetic variant of Alzheimer’s ??

FYI, this paper was shared on May 8th on our sister Facebook website, https://www.facebook.com/apoe4.info, which should be accessible to all whether or not they have a facebook account. Needless to say, this post attracted a number of comments, here is what Dr Dale Bredesen wrote about this paper i...

Re: Apoe4 /4 a new genetic variant of Alzheimer’s ??

Hello everyone, forum newbie here. I learned I was e4/e4 last year after doing 23andme. One maternal grandparent had Alzheimer's, the other did not and lived to be 92. On my father's side, both grandparents were life long smokers starting as teens and so both died in their 60s, too early to tell wh...

My bad; I just see anyone younger than 50 as a kid!

Re: Apoe4 /4 a new genetic variant of Alzheimer’s ??

Thank you so much, Nancy! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you! Gosh 50 is so young for symptom onset. The 65 average has also been really hard for me to swallow. What happened to the 60% by age 85 that 23&me quoted? (If I’m remembering correctly.) I can handle the thought of symptoms in ...

Re: Apoe4 /4 a new genetic variant of Alzheimer’s ??

Oh Nancy, I just want to tell you how much you’ve helped me over the years. This has been a lot to process today and you’ve helped break it down. Thank you so much for pointing out the 30 year range. When I first read the synopsis, I spiraled thinking they meant that they could confidently say most...
