Re: Looking for help with low SFA low carb diet

Would any of you who follow a low carb, very low saturated fat diet be willing to share specifics of what you eat in a day? I’ve decided that’s what I need to do, but it’s a bit challenging since for so much of my life I ate mostly whole food plant based so it’s a big change. I see some of you post...

Re: Disruptions at NIH, NSF, etc.

I’m seeing research disrupted by new changes to grants and funding - different policy changes virtually every day. The new policy regarding indirect funding is already causing freezes and cuts in programs I’m watching, but those are in other fields. Any news from AD researchers? Nothing official th...

Re: New Member Introduction

Hello all, I have been digging around the forum and am already very grateful for all the amazing information and particularly so excited to see the positive, supportive tone in all the messages. Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women

Speaking of new studies, I was really disappointed when I came across this one. Has anyone else seen this yet? https://alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/alz.14456 I'll admit that it's making me wonder if I'm doing the right thing by being on HRT. Welcome to the forum! Here's a P...

Have you checked with Apollo Health directly? I've heard of some people in Europe who went to practitioners in the Isle of Jersey or the UK, or even to the US to get tests.

Re: Doomscrolling

I try to convince myself that learning my APOE status (I’m a 4/4) was a blessing in disguise, but then I come across articles like this: https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/05/health/new-alzheimers-genes-wellness/index.html, and I feel like I’m doomed. This particular quote scares me: “Lifestyle factors su...

Re: Welcome!!!

Hi Stavia, I just joined today. I'm a scientist by training (PhD, cell & molecular biology). I'm grateful to find a forum like this one after discovering that I'm an APOE4 carrier. I had the same question as the user below about 23&Me. I poked around on the site and figured out how to deter...

Re: APOE4 /4 conflicting information

update! (perhaps naively) I am determined to be the % of APOE4 who may end up with amyloid plaque etc but no clinical symptoms. i am exercising daily, taking care of cholesterol and now sleeping (gummies). i found hope here and really read the report from Spain carefully and the reviews —biological...

Re: Oura ring

A little bit of history - the 1st gen commercial HRV monitors were bands placed around the chest and directly over the heart. As the technology improved, watches and wristbands were introduced. Now, the technology has improved and rings have been introduced. With that said, it is highly unlikely th...
