Re: Doctors in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and South East Asia
Hi, I recently discovered that I was a ApoE e4/e4 and I have been looking for a doctor to support me in fighting the gene. Doctors I have spoken to are all more or less telling me to wait until I get diagnosed with ADS, because they can't do much before. Obviously "preventive" methods exi...

Re: Being keto adapted and social situations on Keto
Hello everyone, I have been on a ketogenic diet (with occasional cheating) for over 6 months now, and am pretty sure I am fat adapted. Looking at lists of "signs you are fat adapted", I pretty much check all the boxes. However, I am confused about wether or not I am also keto adapted, bec...

Re: Questions about blood test results and risk assessment
Good morning, I have been here before but not for more than a couple of years. I'm a 58 year old woman, apoe 3/4. My mom was also a 3/4 and my dad was never tested, so I'm assuming I got my 4 from my mom. I am trying to figure out if apoe4 works "silently" against us even with normal bloo...

Re: Crushed Zizyphi spinosi (seed) prevents neurodegenerative diseases and reverses age-related cognitive decline in mic
The researchers found that simply dried and powdered ZSS was the most effective intervention compared to various other extracts they tested. A dose of 0.1mg/30g mouse (comes out to about 3.3mg/kg) was used for the dried ZSS powder. Not sure how much folks here like to play lab rat at home, but for ...

Re: Genetic counseling
The truth of the matter is, I'm afraid that if I share my genetic information with insurance companies, they will assume that I am destined to develop Alzheimer's, and therefore treat me like an Alzheimer's patient. I'm afraid that the state or some other agency will step in and make me their ward,...

Re: AHEAD 3-45 STUDY CLINICAL TRIAL (LECANEMAB - BAN 2401)
This seems like the right place to post an article from the Nov. 14 issue of Alzforum on a panel discussion of the AHEAD3-45 Clinical Trials. As the article notes: Lecanemab was approved for people with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia due to Alzheimer’s, but trial data show it works bett...

"Leqembi: Side Effects No Worse in Clinical Use Than They Were in Trial"
Alzforum posted a summary of several presentations by clinicians in the U.S, UK, and Japan on numbers and safety data for Leqembi (lecanemab) at the recent CTAD (Clinical Trials on Alzheimer's Disease) conference. Details are available here: Leqembi: Side Effects No Worse in Clinical Use Than They W...

Re: Hello, i did a MyHeritage test!
... Regarding Promethease, I did subscribe and regarding ApoE section what they tell: - rs7412(C;C) part of APOE4 genoset evaluation -> this one I knew, quite standard and usual. - rs440446(C;G) increased risk in men for biliary conditions -> I'll disregard this one as a female & not related to...
