Re: Lipidologist or GP in NYC area
Hi - I posted in the practioner review forum but thought I may get some help here as well. I was hoping someone has a recommendation for a lipidologist or general practitioner in the NYC area that is familiar with APOE4/4 and would prescribe statins as a preventative measure. My numbers would be co...

Re: NeuroQuant inaccurate?
Hi there! I had a NeuroQuant done about 4 1/2 years ago and things looked fine. I had a little swelling in the pallium area of the brain, which Dr. Heather Sandison was tied to "moldy" brain. My overall volume was like 74% volume and my hippocampus was around 50%. I moved out of the moldy...

Re: Brutal new policy capping NIH "indirects" at 15%
Thanks Nancy. My mom is actually in the AHEAD trial in Florida. That’s a great point about NIH funded clinical trials. On my end, it’s mostly administrators and scientific progress that will suffer if these indirect cuts go through, but you’re right that clinical trial participants would be at risk...

Re: Brutal new policy capping NIH "indirects" at 15%
Quick update. A federal judge just stopped the policy change after 22 states sued: https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/5137047-federal-judge-restrains-nih-research/ That's some good news, at least for now. Thank you for posting this, Dr. Nuriel. Unfortunately, for now it only applies to those 22 ...

Re: Looking for help with low SFA low carb diet
Would any of you who follow a low carb, very low saturated fat diet be willing to share specifics of what you eat in a day? I’ve decided that’s what I need to do, but it’s a bit challenging since for so much of my life I ate mostly whole food plant based so it’s a big change. I see some of you post...

Re: Disruptions at NIH, NSF, etc.
I’m seeing research disrupted by new changes to grants and funding - different policy changes virtually every day. The new policy regarding indirect funding is already causing freezes and cuts in programs I’m watching, but those are in other fields. Any news from AD researchers? Nothing official th...

Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women
Speaking of new studies, I was really disappointed when I came across this one. Has anyone else seen this yet? https://alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/alz.14456 I'll admit that it's making me wonder if I'm doing the right thing by being on HRT. Welcome to the forum! Here's a P...

Re: Referral for Bredesen/ APOe4 aware practice in Israel
Have you checked with Apollo Health directly? I've heard of some people in Europe who went to practitioners in the Isle of Jersey or the UK, or even to the US to get tests.
