Re: After 17 hours fast, only mild ketosis

I will check out and research the Keytone Esters. The late Dr. Richard Veech ran a lab at the NIH for ketones for many years. This is an interview with him, you can click on the transcript to read it. I believe this is the product he developed. As mentioned, the product is expensive. However, I wou...

Re: After 17 hours fast, only mild ketosis

I'm very interested to know which Keto Breathalizer you have mentioned. The one I bought in 2020 is called "KetoScan, real-time fat burning monitor". (measures acetone). It was a very consistent device. And was consistent with each of us. It was the Biosense device. There is a thread on i...

Hand weights. I will try this. The challenge is always trying to adapt any regimen to her gradient level, so that she will actually be willing to carry it out. I learned a LOT with the 25 day sauna regimen. I think I can add hand weights to her regimen without too much complaint. Needs to be some w...

Re: After 17 hours fast, only mild ketosis

Something here is new info for me. "Low insulin is required to make ketones" - Her last (fasting) insulin from Quest was on 3/7/22, 4.3 uIU/mL. What are your thoughts? Good or Not Good? 4.3 uIU/mL is good. Fasting insulin is pulsatile (from a PhD friend who studies it). So can vary a bit....

Re: Any thoughts on lecithin (phosphatidylcholine)?

Hi - Is the lecithin powder definitely more beneficial for phosphatydl choline supplement than the liquid form? I have been taking liquid sunflower lecithin and need to reorder and want to get what is most beneficial for my 3/4 status. Maybe Tincup has ideas about the benefits of the two different ...

Re: After 17 hours fast, only mild ketosis

Thanks for all the great replies. And suggestions. I am new to the APOE4.info platform, and I could not figure out how to reply to each individual's comment. Hi Shep, Here is the quick answer to replies. Hit the large quote marks at the right top of the person's reply. This will quote that person i...

Re: After 17 hours fast, only mild ketosis

Sadly, the keto-flex diet took her from a stable 125-128 weight to a low of 103, and now hovers around 109, with a height of 5'5". The two things that stand out as not accomplished are - ketosis, and intense exercise. I bought a professional grade treadmill, but walking the treadmill in my opi...

Cashews are legumes and not nuts, hence the issue. Here is a link on deactivating lectins from cashews.

Re: New with questions: ACES, lectins, ZOE

I am confused about the dietary suggestions regarding lectins. I have eaten a lot of beans in my life and hope to continue. I have been on a primarily plant based diet for many years. I eat fish and limited meat, but prefer beans to meat. Is there a marker I can reference on my dna (from 23 and me)...

Re: Interpreting lipid tests Cardio IQ

I wouldn't say I'm "up to speed" on lipidology but I have had the Cardio IQ and have some similar results to yours--high particles, high smalls, high peak size, but my total cholesterol and ApoB are high and my pattern is A. ( Curious: Can pattern change? ) I was really not happy to see A...
