Dear friends, a belated thanks for the extremely helpful thoughts. This is a really devastating situation, and it's probably playing itself out all over the world. Susan, yes, one of the children will be taking on a more active "patient advocate" role and meeting with Jane's doctors. Nancy...

Re: Conference in Miami: AAIC® Advancements: APOE & Lipid Biology

P.S. Obviously, I'd love to connect with those of you who attend. (And I will maintain secrecy about people's APOE status, unless instructed otherwse. I know this is a sensitive topic! Only recently did I decide to come out of the closet as an ε4/ε4.)

Re: What happened to 23andMe forums? (Any lawyers here who can help?)

Tincup, yes, 23andMe is in bad shape as a company. By the way, after much back and forth, I finally got a definitive answer: Katrina, Dec 27, 2024, 1:26 PM PST: Hello Brian, My apologies for the delayed response. Unfortunately it is no longer possible to provide you with this information as all foru...

Re: What happened to 23andMe forums?

23andMe replied that they cannot get me copies of the huge volume of my posts.

We should sue them for destroying our data.

Any lawyers want to help with this?

Re: Ketone Bodies Clear Damaged Proteins in the Brain

In human APOE ε4 carriers, ketones might not help so much: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7297981/ Older APOE4 carriers with CI also show resistance to improvement from a ketogenic diet. Two interventions demonstrated that APOE4 carriers do not benefit from a ketogenic diet (Reger et al., ...

What happened to 23andMe forums? (Any lawyers here who can help?)

I just went to look for the 23andMe discussion forums. It appears they were shut down in 2021: https://www.facebook.com/groups/23andmeforums/about -- "However the 23andMe Forums were shut down on Sept 6, 2021." Julie and I and another member had extensive discussion there, which constitute...

Re: DDL-218

Thanks Aphorist! I'm (after a career switch) in longevity-oriented research and biotech (in several capacities) and have decided to focus on APOE as a target, especially now that my parents have entered their late autumnal years. I'm looking for upstream solutions: gene (or nucleotide) therapies, st...

Re: DDL-218

Yes, I'm wondering whether DDL-218 is a structure corrector, or alters DNA binding through some other means. Either way, it would be great to learn more. By the way, I still haven't been able to figure out why Huang, Mahley, and team closed up shop at E-scape Bio. Does anyone know? It's possible the...
