Re: Feel like my time is running out

Taking care of your health through nutrition, exercise, sleep, and socializing are the top preventative factors. I am glad that you will find ways to prioritize them moving forward. The more you exercise, the healthier you'll want to eat. It's a beneficial cycle. I wish you good luck!

Re: Thyroid medication?

You're welcome. It's confusing because there are two studies with slightly different messages: In 2022, Brown University (the Taiwan study) found that people over 65 with hypothyroidism were 80% more likely to develop dementia than those without thyroid issues. Furthermore, those who required thyroi...

Re: Thyroid medication?

Thank you. I like TLS's recommendation to check my iodine levels. Plumster, Bredesen's recommendation to take thyroid medicine (I've read The End of Alzheimer's) predates his more recent posting on X about the new research regarding that medicine being linked to dementia. If one is subclinical and ...

Re: Thyroid medication?

Thanks, Kitkat. For anyone interested, here is another link that Bredesen provided on X, to an article about the study: https://scitechdaily.com/thyroid-problems-linked-to-increased-risk-of-developing-dementia/ Bredesen on X: ReCODE Protocol participants know that hormones impact cognitive health. Re: Thyroid medication?

But I believe that some studies link thyroid medication to increased risk of dementia. Do we know, for apoe4 folks, if the medication is helpful or harmful? On X (on May 20, 2023), Dr. Dale Bredesen wrote, “Those with a history of hypothyroidism were associated with an 81% increased risk of having ...

Re: Worst Labs Ever

My doctor just called to discuss my latest test results. I thought I was on the right track, but I have to admit that I am in shock and starting to freak out. I know that I need to quickly figure out what's wrong and come up with a new game plan, but I'm panicking. For the past year, I've cut out p...

Re: Apoe4 /4 a new genetic variant of Alzheimer’s ??

Here is Peter Attia on the flaws in communicating the findings of the study: Yet “elevated risk” is a far cry from “guarantee” – leaving plenty of room for each of us to influence our own fate through other risk-mitigation strategies such as maintaining metabolic and cardiovascular health. Previous ...

Re: Whole Foods Plant Based Diet/Lifestyle Leads to MCI Improvement

I am trying to find an appropriate diet for my family, 4 sisters which all have APOE3/4 and one with 4/4. Our children are testing and one so far is a 4/4. My mother and grandmother died of Alzheimers. I read this article and many others on dietary interventions. ( I have stacks of research from PU...
