Re: Let's solve ALZ. APOE4--Nature's/God's Original Design

What leads you to believe that abeta CAUSES Alzheimer's for E4 carriers only? You mention that the "success" of the current trials plays into your theory. Are you aware that anti-amyloid therapies do not work for E4 heterozygotes and they worsen cognition for E4 homozygotes? See more here...

Just to add a bit. My functional dentist now does a laser treatment at the end of every cleaning to help knock out any bacteria in my pockets. Seems to be keeping them small...

Re: Doctors in San Francisco Bay Area

Thank you. I will try these resources if possible but they are not really close to me in the heart of silicon valley. Dr Joshua Knowles was referred by my cardiologist for my hard to treat cholesterol. He is at Stanford and works with genetics and understands some of the relevant issues regarding A...

I don't get it. So he wants to treat with drugs, but the drugs cause you muscle breakdown, right? Did he have a suggestion re a different type of drug? I was just amazed that he didn't seem perturbed by my high fat/protein diet. I'm getting some tests done tomorrow and we'll see what he recommends ...

Re: Statins when you’re homozygous APOE4

They started me off by seeing a geneticist who discussed my maybe needing genetic testing to see if there might be a combinatio...

I experimented w ACV for a short period of time and didn't see much difference. Does she take it before, during, or after? Every meal or only some? How much of a difference in BG does it make? Do you have any thoughts as to why it makes a difference? Thank you for your ongoing help. She usually tak...

I have a lot going on and don't know what is simply ok but not perfect and what is potentially serious. Allergies can mess you up - my wife has them to various foods, and it seems to change based on what she eats... A couple of things that she has found that helps is homemade kefir. She also finds ...
