Recruiting for the PREVENTE4 Trial

I recently had an interesting and hopeful conversation with Dr. Hussein Yassine from the USC Keck School of Medicine about his work focused on the ApoE4 gene. You may recall Dr. Yassine from this Peter Attia Podcast. We did a podcast that focused primarily on the top ApoE4 mechanisms that lead to di...

Re: Cholesterol drives Alzheimer's plaque formation

But even with the emphases, if no one is claiming that a high fat diet increases the liver's output of AB, then consider my question null and void, if not me too  ;) You'll never be "null and void" in my estimation. FWIW, I think the concept came from a quote w/i the PR. In addition,...

Re: Webcasts with Dr. Ackerley about how mold/CIRS affects the brain

Hi Julie -- what was the name of the article that Dr. Bredesen wrote? There are so many and this topic is not jumping out at me. --- Kay

Hi Kay. The paper that he published on this topic is entitled: Inhalational Alzheimer's disease: An unrecognized —and treatable — disorder

Re: Cholesterol drives Alzheimer's plaque formation

I was asking myself what happens if a high fat diet does increase the liver's output of AB while also reducing TGs. What then happens to the increased AB??? Dumb question, but what evidence do you have that a high fat diet increases the liver's output of AB? The study I linked was a mouse study. Th...

Re: OT: LCHF diet and the gut

The gut - it's more complicated than you think. And don't rely on mouse studies for your diet advice.

Amen! I haven't listened to the podcast but did read the paper. It's refreshing to see this amount of nuance on a complicated topic with many variables.

Re: Targets for Ketosis using BioSense

So to your questions, I feel better. Not ideal yet. I had a few weeks where I felt awesome. I'm in the 5th week now and I'm starting to feel really tired again. Though, I was 320 and am now down to 288. I just need to keep going and chase results, not a specific ketone number. Kudos on the weight l...

Re: Introduction and Help With ApoE4 Diet

Is there anything I can eat besides avocados, olive oil, oily fish, shellfish, lean meat, egg whites, fat free dairy, and non-starchy vegetables? Hi Sabby! I'm not quite sure how you arrived at that list of foods, some of which- lean meats, egg whites, and fat-free dairy are NOT foods I would chose...

ReCODE: A Personalized, Targeted, Multi-Factorial Therapeutic Program for Reversal of Cognitive Decline Thanks for sharing, Theresa. To clarify, this is not the peer-reviewed version of Dr. Bredesen's clinical trial. That will be coming soon to the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease. This Biomedicines ...

Re: Trying to Manage Interstitial Cystitis while Following the Bredesen Protocol

If anyone has any resources or suggestions of ways to navigate the pain of IC and still be mindful of brain health and the Bredesen protocol, I'd truly appreciate it. Unfortunately, I can't afford to work with a Functional Medicine doctor at this time. So sorry, my friend. I spent decades dealing w...
