Re: Nighttime hypoglycemia question

I concur with not treating insulin sensitive folks, especially if they are making at least a modicum of ketones. I responded to someone here about that as their CGM was set for an alarm when glucose dropped below 70 mg/dL (3.89 mmol/L). This person was making ketones and was obviously fine. My sugg...

Nighttime hypoglycemia question

Hey brilliant people, I need your help. I was going to ask Jason Fung, but figured I'd try our smart group of citizen scientists first. I work with people in many different stages of metabolic health, all trying to achieve mild ketosis. They often experience nighttime hypoglycemia and are alerted by...

Re: APOLLOE4 Study: Are you or someone you know struggling with memory loss?

Hi all! As Tincup point out earlier in this thread, all of our study opportunities are announcements as opposed to endorsements. Please do your own research. That said, Sano Genetics asked me to update this research announcement; (see below.) If interested, please reach out to their trial screener h...

Re: New Introduction -Confused How To Proceed

So my conundrum is how to proceed forward. Especially with testing and whether I should use a functional Dr. I live in Coachella Valley area or Palm Springs area of California. I have tried to reach out to Dr. Gundry and can't seem to get a call back from his office (his recording says he will take...

Re: Gauging Interest in a Trial with Valter Longo, PhD

I was thinking the lack of e4s in Blue Zones was because those subpopulations didn't happen to have a high frequency of e4s, rather than that what e4s they may include didn't live as long with the Blue Zone lifestyle. Maybe I mistook that. Not sure that's true across the board. In Japan, for instan...

Re: Gauging Interest in a Trial with Valter Longo, PhD

Hi Julie G. This is Bilbomac from over in the Recode program. As you may recall, I brought up a desire for a partnership between the Recode program with the Nutrition for Longevity meals program based on Dr. Longos thinking but was worried about carbs. I would be interested in the trial but am curi...

Re: Gauging Interest in a Trial with Valter Longo, PhD

Thanks for weighing in, Tincup and Theresa. In Dr. Longo's defense, he acknowledges that aging is the greatest risk factor for Alzheimer's disease and epidemiological evidence suggests that the diet he is proposing leads to longevity. That said, if you examine the APOE genotype of the eldest people ...

Gauging Interest in a Trial with Valter Longo, PhD

I recently had a fascinating discussion with Dr. Longo re. both his Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) his Longevity Diet (LD). He wondered if we could get a group of homozygotes together for a year-long clinical trial with two arms — an intervention and a control, with both ultimately receiving the inter...

Re: Diet help. Please post what is working for you!

Just grabbed the most recent quote to tag you Julie. Loved your power point. Clear and easy to digest. Have you made significant changes in the last 5 years? Great question. The biggest change to my diet has been to my fasting window. There are many days that I fast for 18-20 hours and I just enjoy...
