Re: Results of our ProdromeScan Experiment

Dayan presented a couple case studies at RAADfest a couple weeks ago, with very impressive data from brain volume scans. It was inspiring! Will the ProdromeScan experiment look at that? Or is there data on cognitive changes, or some other clinically relevant endpoint? Seeing changes in biomarkers i...

Re: Results of our ProdromeScan Experiment

Yes julie I had it done and it came out very good with the most important part of the scan was the high dha plasmalogens. Everyone that has the apoe4 gene should get it. It’s a very informative information for everyone. Kudos for doing the scan and for your good results! Mine were also good, with a...

Re: 21 Proven Ways to Increase Brain Blood Flow

I have a feeling caffeine may be one of those things with a sweet spot when the effects are beneficial, while too much could become a problem. I think you're right about that. Lots of research to support it- in moderation. What about Exercise with Oxygen Therapy (EWOT) to increase blood brain flow?...

Re: acetyl L carnitine causes depression

I find that ALCAR (acetyl L carnitine) taken to boost BDNF depresses me & makes me cry. I've re-challenged 3 times, but the result is always the same. Can anyone shed any light on this? It's 650mg taken morning and night apart from food. The depression is not immediate, but after about 3 doses-...

Re: Hopeful news for those with risky CVD biomarkers

Hi Julie, I was wondering what you thought about the recent news that having high ldl cholesterol is a risk factor for Alzheimer's? Dr. Bredeson doesn't like statins because they are also a factor in Alzheimer's. Whatever is one to do? Hi Bam Bam, I assume you're referring to the new Lancet Commiss...

Re: Hopeful news for those with risky CVD biomarkers

Hey Julie, thats good to hear! A couple questions: What is his age? Are these blood results consistent with prior results if there are any? In other words has he had high LDL – P for a long time you think? Yes, consistently high LDL-P (`2,500) and glycemic markers (5.6) despite a pretty clean diet/...

Re: Results of our ProdromeScan Experiment

Did anyone else look back at their report and learn something new? I did. I have a significant amount of "mitochondrial leakage." I suspect that this is fairly common with E4. Dr. Goodnowe speaks about strength training as being very important to address this. Here are some additional stra...

Re: Science magazine article on ApoE4 research

Thanks, NF52! This is a nice review of ApoE4 research. Members of our community have previously met with Drs. Robert Mahley and Yadong Huang (cited in the article) to learn about their small structure corrector which, sadly, hasn't panned out. Some of the statements, characterizing ApoE4 as "to...
