Re: Tramiprosate: a silver bullet for 4/4 carriers?

I spoke with an Alzheon rep at the AAIC conference in Amsterdam about the enthusiasm for a prevention trial for ApoE 4/4s and he seemed to indicate it's coming. (They never want to get ahead of their skis on trials!) Not to mention that many here are already using this as a part of their personaliz...

Re: Tramiprosate: a silver bullet for 4/4 carriers?

The news keeps getting better and better for this intervention. See the latest update in ALZ-801 for 2 years seen to sustain cognition in early Alzheimer’s. -Improved cognition; not "slowing" of decline: 24% significant improvement in the RAVLT total score -No increased risk of brain swell...

Re: Essential Oil Study with 226% improvement on Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test

But I think a biostatistician would say drawing sweeping conclusions from this study of one group of 10 against another group of 11 after 6 months doesn't pass the smell test. I agree that this needs more research, but I want to clarify a few things. Both groups got the essential oil, there was no ...

Re: Essential Oil Study with 226% improvement on Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test

Results: A statistically significant 226% improvement was observed in the enriched group compared to the control group on the Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test and improved functioning was observed in the left uncinate fasciculus, as assessed by mean diffusivity. Thanks for sharing, Tincup. I agree...

Re: Eating well- frying/roasting veg - is it that bad?

These are the only things I can think of: 1. It would be nice if you didn't have to order so far in advance. I find it a little unsettling to have to order next week's box before I've receive this week's box. 2. I really wish there were some way to recycle the ice packs. My chest freezer is full of...

Re: Eating well- frying/roasting veg - is it that bad?

Julie, do you happen to know how they cook the vegetables in the Ketoflex meal plans from Nutrition for Longevity? Are they lightly steamed or sautéed? I think they do a combination of both steaming and sautéing depending upon the recipe. Because their focus is longevity, there are NO advanced glyc...

Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector

Thanks for sharing this! I am very excited by tramiprosate for E4 homozygotes especially. This seems to be one of the few pharmaceuticals that is being studied for our population that is showing benefit without risk of severe side effects. The fact that it's currently available OTC is a bonus. FWIW,...

New Podcast with Dr. Goodenowe

I recently had the chance to catch up with Dr. Dayan Goodenowe, who's launched an exciting new opportunity that may appeal to some of our members. He's recently opened a recovery and rehab clinic for dementia patients in Canada. To learn about the details, strategies that he's using, and our upcomin...
