Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?

I'm still trying to sort this and don't have it figured out. But what I do have figured out is we need some histamine. And we don't need what the blockers are doing to us. Including causing cognitive issues. If MCAS is not a big issue for someone, and they are not using antihistamines- this is a non...

It's a cream. I sent you an email. Not sure if this forum allows you to put what one is using on here.

Ha! We both have been down many rabbit holes with our chronic selves.

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?

The book points out that sometimes no response is a positive response. Even a tiny amount as a pin prick of a substance can be a therapeutic positive response, with no response. Its fascinating and something I had NEVER heard of. I went into it with much skepticism and came out with a whole new way ...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?

Julie, I have MCAS too and not Ige tested response. If you read the book it will answer a whole bunch of questions for you. I'm off all my MCAS and POTS medicines for 2 months now. I have been hospitalized in ICU for MCAS. So being off everything is amazing for me. My brain function has improved dra...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?

Just was sent this This is the article that Ravikovitch tried to publish in the 90s about his treatment (it appears at the end of the book) and rejected by the well-known UK immunologist S.T. Holgate. It is a summary of the content of the book for those who do not feel like reading the entire book. ...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?

Having MCAS issues, I had been using MCAS medicines for a long time. I started feeling they were contributing to my brain issues. My brain, pain and everything is better. Still tweaking a new approach for MCAS. But seeing improvement. Here is a book on a new, to me approach. In my quest for WHYS.......

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?

I tried VIP, felt so bad on it. Had more mast cell issues and worse POTS. I did it for 2 months hoping it would get better, but it didn't. So for now, trying to get the MARCONS better and will retry later. She said I'm in the very hard category with CIRS. It seems to be affecting my brain. I did fin...

Re: Any experience with Bredesen Protocol?

Great question, Junipero. FWIW, many in our community have been using a personalized multi-factorial approach BEFORE we even heard of Dr. Bredesen. As Susan indicated, it's not been a straight trajectory for many of us. For instance, once I was well on my path I learned that I was dealing with CIRS...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?

My doc, Dr. Jennifer Smith - isn't that far from Tuscon. She is in Scotsdale. She will do telephone too. She has to initially see you. Not sure of her telephone pricing. I think she may be less than Dr. Ackerly. She believes in VIP working. But, she follows the guidelines to make sure your body is r...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?

Thing is with VIP, you have to have monthly labs done on lipase to make sure it's not messing your pancreas up. That requires a draw and order. Someone can set up standing orders for you. But it has to be monitored.
