I believe that study was using progestogens, which is a synthetic form of progesterone. From what I’ve heard progesterone does not have the same drawbacks. In fact, it’s supposed to be protective.

The first study you linked used progestin. That is a very different drug than progesterone or Prometrium, which is widely used today. progestin is known to have several horrible side effects.

Have your doctor add on a free T4. Last year my TSH was high but they just repeated the TSH in a few months, when it came down it just under 5.
