Re: Can the answer be as simple as keeping LDL low in early adulthood?

For ApoE4 carriers, can the answer be as simple as keeping LDL low beginning in early adulthood? I find it difficult to accept that there’s such limited research on young adults in their 20s and 30s with ApoE4. Given all the variables that seem to contribute to Alzheimer's, and the other conditions...

I was tested in 2014 and have the raw data from 23andme to check on SnPs that are protective or not so protective when I learn about them.

Re: 29 year old with newly identified 4/4

I am a 29 year old female with an unremarkable medical history. My husband and I decided it would be fun to do 23andme a few weeks ago. When the results came back last week, I was shocked to find out I’m a 4/4. There is no known family history of dementia or Alzheimer’s on either side of my family....

Re: aricept and ReCode

Oops, forgot to quote you to assure you saw my response. So to amend: Aricept and other cholinesterase inhibitors are currently prescribed against Alzheimers. From the Info I gathered it is clear, that there are no positive long term effects, e.g. a 2017 Canadian review study, https://www.healthline...

Re: aricept and ReCode

Do you have Dr Bredesen’s first book, The End of Alzheimer’s ? He discusses Aricept (donepezil) in numerous places, mostly its temporary efficacy and drawbacks, including this: First, blocking the breakdown of acetylcholine does not affect the cause or progression of Alzheimer’s disease. The disease...

I don't use facebook. What a shame. Look at the papers/articles you’ve missed that were posted on https://www.facebook.com/apoe4.info in just the past week. • Neurodegeneration, Mitochondria, and Antibiotics • What Are The Health Benefits Of Cold Water Swimming? • Rationale for a Multi-Factorial Ap...

Fructose leads to Alzheimer’s? (new hypothesis and wiki)

This recently published paper has been causing quite a stir. Could Alzheimer’s disease be a maladaptation of an evolutionary survival pathway mediated by intracerebral fructose and uric acid metabolism? Published earlier this month (March 2023), the lead author is Dr Richard J Johnson. He is a resea...

We had this thread where people have shared their experiences:

More ATP is helpful, but the bigger picture is taking care of your mitochondria. https://wiki.apoe4.info/wiki/Mitochondria
