Re: Still looking for hope.

Things like a bad back that can't be fixed with surgery are still with me but there are so many interesting and fun things to do and learn about I don't have time to worry about the things I can't do. Good to see you posting and glad you are still keeping yourself busy! Your advice, about not worry...

You and I are in the same camp. I also keep saturated fat on the low side.

Re: What are the most important blood tests?

I know that analogy that Alzheimer's is like a roof with 36 holes, but I'm only getting the chance to check a few here, so if you had to prioritize, which would you pick? NF52's list is a great place to start, and most doctors will do a CBC and liver function test routinely anyway. Personally, I wo...

Re: skinny!

Any suggestions for weight gain would be appreciated! Adding more fat doesn't seem to do the trick for me, so adding some extra carbs is the only way I can maintain a reasonable weight and be active (currently 5'6" and around 115). I eat somewhere around 150 grams/day, sometimes more, sometime...

Re: Receptor Decoy Raises Risk of Alzheimer’s—But Only in Women

Interesting. The full article is at: https://www.nature.com/articles/s43587-022-00241-9 This snp is on the IL1RL1 gene, and a quick look through the NIH and Snpedia info shows that IL1RL1 is influenced by the Vitamin D pathways. And if you are wondering if you have the get-out-of-jail variant, the a...

I did Shingrix. Sailed through the first dose. Got a headache followed by shivering for a couple hours on the second, about 8 hours after the shot. Both are known side effects.
