Folate-Deficient Hypermobility Syndrome

I know some members here have hypermobility issues. I thought I'd bring this August pre-print to your attention:

Re: What are the most important blood tests?

Why didn't I ever think of invoking my family history to get some of the tests I want? A little trick I learned in my masters in management program. If the conversation is going no where, you learn to come at it from a different perspective. ;) It paid off after I had an OAT test and my former doct...

Re: What are the most important blood tests?

And sometimes it's easier to get doctors to test if there is a family history of something. Why didn't I ever think of invoking my family history to get some of the tests I want? I will often say "I'm at risk for …" but clearly that's not as persuasive as "My father suffered from …&q...

Re: Still trying to make sense if it is worth APOE4 to get a vaccine for Shingles and VZV?

I didn't see a study on this using Shingrix as a variable associated with functioning level since it was approved in 2017 and suspect that no one has studied this because a 2-dose drug would be expected to perform well and any study wouldn't be likely to have a surprising result or add to clinical ...

Re: Still trying to make sense if it is worth APOE4 to get a vaccine for Shingles and VZV?

I think I was vaccinated for chickenpox when I was a child (but can’t recall), and trying to determine if it is worth getting another vaccine based on the data coming out about the connection between Alzheimer’s and HSV1. By the way I tested and currently have the HSV1 antibodies. Personally, it wa...

Re: The $100 Genome has Arrived? AD Breakthrough!

They have a humanity family tree under construction which could be extremely powerful in searching for disease variants. You could simply locate yourself in this tree and report your phenotype to some database. The large variant risks might immediately pop out when even a few people in the tree rep...

Re: The $100 Genome has Arrived? AD Breakthrough!

Yes, it's true that they gave up on the ICAD name quite a while ago, though the replacement AAIC, I mean it's not even pronouncable. ACK? ICK? J11 dares to be different. I can't pronounce an acronym with three consecutive vowels and a soft consonant; ain't gonna happen, not even gonna try. ICAD? No...

Re: Virtual Book Club: MiHigh Infrared Blanket

I also don't have time to delve into the tradeoffs between infrared and near infrared saunas, so any feedback about that would be helpful too. I did a quick search and found this overview comparing near, mid, and far infrared saunas as a starting point for research. It seems that each wavelength ra...

Re: Endurance athlete... how do I fuel?

You can edit down their post if you like, as long as you don't disturb the beginning and ending brackets with the word "quote" in them! By the way, in case it's not come up before, the easiest way I've found to edit a post I'm quoting, as in the one just above, is before clicking on the q...

Thank you for your response Circ! This is now getting so exciting! We are now days away from ICAD! This will be epic. There are multiple topline reportables that are now imminent ... ... and then there's Clarity and then there's Gantenu so much to celebrate! I need to stock up for the celebration ....
