Re: Dr. Dan LaPerriere MD, Louisville (Boulder), CO, Functional Medicine and Bredesen ReCode
Hi Kitty, can you update your review of Dr. LaPerriere? Has your husband continued to see him, and to improve / maintain his good health and mood? Do you meet with the doctor in person or via Tele health? What, specifically, has been helpful — Prescriptions? Blood tests? Supplements? Execise? Diet c...

Re: Gene Therapy Trial for ApoE4 Homozygotes
Good to know! I was assuming the risk might be 1 in 100. Another question is the risk over time, e.g. can a brain tumor that shows up five years later be attributed to the treatment? As for the low-dose risk, the doctor said that if there was a clear advantage to the higher dose, that, yes, I could ...

Re: Gene Therapy Trial for ApoE4 Homozygotes
Hi Folks, I am getting ready to head to Orlando to participate in the LX1001 study mentioned above. They have asked that I NOT discuss my experience on "social media," so I won't be posting updates here, but I would be happy to chat with fellow Apoe4x2s via email or other mediums of commun...

Re: I’m ApoE4/E4
Hi Sheryl, nice to meet you. I’m new too, or at least I don’t stop by very often. You will find a lot of people here who are expert at blood markers and diets. I hope you have a support system and someone checking in on you. I have found it useful to buy outlet timers so I things like irons will get...

Re: Interested in stories about 4/4 folks
Hi Justin, I don’t know how universal it is, but definitely in my family there seems to be an association between the gene and having a “disorderly and impulsive mind” ...and also musical talent... and yes, loving cheese. But you could just as easily characterize our minds as “curious and creative,”...

Re: Not all Omega 3's are the same...?
Why do we need to choose one or the other? I take 2 fish and 2 krill caps daily, to hedge my bets. I know they are doing something when I notice my fingernails growing stronger and healthier.

Thanks for this, any recommended brands? I see all 3 on Amazon (“NOW Supplements,”) very affordable.

Re: Is anyone else experimenting with ALZLIFE? (40-hz light/sound therapy app)
I don't think staring at a video would have the same effect. Here is a good discussion of the difference between tones and clicks, and what the various studies have used, and advice about the use of a sub-woofer, and more. I find it fascinating. The military already uses brain stimulation during dee...

Is anyone else experimenting with ALZLIFE? (40-hz light/sound therapy app)
There have been several radio shows and articles appearing recently about using 40-hz flashing "gamma" lights and audio clicks to re-set and "clear out" the brains of mice with Alzheimery brains. As a double Apoe4, age 55, naturally I was interested. So I downloaded an app called...

Re: Genealogy and Assessing Risk
Hi, Mike, yes my daughter was tested and she is 4/4. It's been a difficult thing to negotiate -- dealing with my own "grieving process" while trying to maintain an "up" attitude for her -- "surely there will be a cure, look at all the great research!" Her father's poor ...
