... No discussion went to the idea of the accumulative risk by risk factors: e.g., APOE4 + anticoagulants... - VA does not allow e44 - e44 has so much CAA it almost completely overlaps (i.e. e44 almost completely overlaps with severe CAA)... - Broad agreement on apoe4 genotyping , yet not mentioned ...

Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

I have wondered if the titration schedule is one reason why we haven't heard of very severe adverse events or deaths in AHEAD, in addition to starting at an earlier disease stage, with possibly less CAA.
Yes, I've wondered the same and sincerely hope this will pan out to protect more E4 carriers.

Having severe CAA is just a large risk factor to bring into a clinical trial; removing this excess amyloid from such patients will permanently reduce their risk of ...

... however, as E4 carriers are also more prone to cerebral amyloid angiopathy predisposing us to brain bleeds. As a 4/4 with a predisposition to CAA, I've settled on 1 gram of high quality DHA and low mercury, wild-caught seafood 3-4 x per week.
