Too Skinny

Lately I've been doing intermittent fasting and/or time restricted eating. I've also been taking TMG and a small handful of other supplements (methyl b-vits). Over the past several months, my homocysteine has dropped from 13 to 9. No majr change in cholesterol...still borderline high (maybe that's n...

Time Restricted Feeding

I have noticed several people reference the podcast by Rhonda Patrick and the researcher Ruth Patterson https://youtu.be/8qlrB84xp5g , and also another podcast with Satchin Panda https://youtu.be/-R-eqJDQ2nU I've listened to both podcasts and I'm curious if anyone can speak to the timing elements of...

Re: Increasing cancer risk by taking b vitamins

I think the issue for me and possibly others is the lack of change experienced in lowering homocysteine through supplementation with the methyl variety of B vits. The answer that I most often get is "take more if it's not lowering or get on Cerefolin" or something like that. Does the risk ...

Increasing cancer risk by taking b vitamins

I'm wondering if anyone here has explored the concerns about folate supplements and the increased risk of prostate and colorectal cancer? It seems like most of the efforts to lower homocysteine utilize high folate and b12 intake. There's some researchers that I've read that claim too much folate is ...

Re: Lab results from N=1 diet experiment

Your data is impressive. I've done a lot of those same labs. I recently went into labcorp and did labs on a Thursday and they screwed something up with one of the tests (Lp-a) but gave me the results of the NMR I ordered (results were Ldl-p, 1200). So, I went back in a few days later to redo the lp-...

Re: Frustrating Homocysteine

I'm pretty sure that Doctors Best B-complex formula is using the active forms of B (hence the lable "Doctor's Best Fully Active B Complex Nutritional Supplement"). I think that's their whole marketing niche.....but I could be wrong. $8 (USD) on Amazon for 30day supply. Ingredients : Vitami...

Re: Frustrating Homocysteine

I was taking this nice formula for the past 6 mths, but I wasn't on any p-5-p for about 2-3 weeks prior to my last bloodwork. N=1, are you saying that you are low carb but no longer in ketosis?
Yes, low carb. I try to stay out of ketosis these days.
