Re: Modifiable risks and APOE 4/4

Does following the practices Dr. Attia promotes decrease the risk to normal level? Assuming the majority of those with the 3/4 and 4/4 that get AD did not take any preventable measures such as exercise or proper diet. I'm not familiar with Dr Attia's ApoE4 protocol, I do know I appreciate most of w...

Re: KetoFlex question

I apologize if this is a very basic question. I'm trying to learn more about the KetoFlex 12/3 diet and I found a book on Amazon titled "Keto Flex" by Ben Azadi. My question is, is this the same diet at the Bredesen KetoFlex 12/3? I was hoping to learn more about how to implement the diet...

Re: Question about new research on lysosomal autophagy

I read a story today about a study that came out in January about druggable sites in ApoE4 and it found something they referred to as CBA2 as a candidate for a drug to improve lysosomal autophagy. Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

Last month CBS's 60 minutes broadcast an episode on “celebratory” news of a neurosurgeon addressing Alzheimer’s through focused ultrasound to open the blood-brain barrier in order to apply the anti-amyloid antibody aducanumab. The treatment did indeed reduce amyloid — BUT DID NOT REPORT ANY COGNITIV...

Re: APOE 4/4 - Wisdom on telling siblings/children

I'm in an APOE 4/4 in a large family with no family history of dementia*. I have five siblings in their 50s/60s and 2 kids in their 20's. None of them have had DNA tests as far as I can tell, but my kids must have at least one E4 and odds are most of my siblings are one E4 or worse. Here's my story...

Re: 55 years old Asian lady with subject cognitive decline

Welcome Tony, your English is impressive! For carbohydrate, which types of carbohydrate will you recommend? I saw sugar and cereal were all banned from list. You're right, not all carbs are created equal. Maybe a visual will help, the KetoFlex pyramid ketoflex brain pyramid.jpg You see that non-star...

Re: New, almost 50, with 1 copy Apoe4 and a family history.

You are already doing many important things that will help delay/avoid dementia. Good for you! I am here because I still have a slim hope that prevention or delay might be possible, so I would like to learn what I can. I also am interested in others stories. I am here to tell you there is hope! I wi...

Re: Phyllodulcin shows potential for treating Alzheimer

Thanks Theresa for sharing. Unfortunately I can’t open the page. Can you please check the link? I linked to the wiki's main page, if you scroll down, the article is there, but I'll make it easier, here's the link to the exact ApoE4.info wiki page: Beneficial (and some negative) Plant/Natural Chemic...

Re: Phyllodulcin shows potential for treating Alzheimer

The study demonstrates that phyllodulcin inhibits the aggregation of amyloid β (Aβ), a main cause of AD, and decomposes existing Aβ clumps. In an animal model, phyllodulcin reduced memory impairments, decreased deposition of Aβ in the hippocampus, and minimized neuroinflammation, key factors in AD....
