Re: Calcium

I am having the hardest time of getting the standard 1200 mg of calcium recommended for those of us over 60 years old on 1300 calories (for weight loss) without supplements (cardiologist advises against supplements) and without dairy!!!! And I am in osteoporosis now, so I'm really in need of a solu...

Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women

I have read the posts that include DHEA here, but am still unsure how to handle my DHEA levels. It is currently 213. My functional ob/gyn doctor says it's too high. She wants it in the 100s. I read that low DHEA has been found with AD patients, and I know that Bredesen's book has DHEA even higher th...

Re: Whole Foods Plant Based Diet for Prevention

Hello all. Not sure if this is the right topic to ask this question - but are there any topics or threads that contain people’s meal logs while on the Bredesen / whole food plant based diets? I’m looking for some inspiration so would not mind exploring a few examples of a realistic long term meal p...

Re: Experiences with a low saturated fat diet?

Some background: After much thought, I've decided to run with a low fat, gluten free, no processed sugar, whole grain, low histamine "vaguely Mediterranean" style diet. My lipids and cholesterol run low, and were only elevated during my one ill-fated experiment with traditional keto, but ...

Re: Whole Foods Plant Based Diet for Prevention

I'm looking for plant-based ways to increase my zinc levels. I think I have always been on the low end, even when I was an omnivore. My levels are on the very low end of what is considered 'normal', but way below what Dr Bredesen recommends. Neither zinc picolinate nor zinc gluconate at 50 mg moved...

Re: Klotho - rs9536314

Hello and pleased to meet you. I'm APOE 4/4 and I'm interested to know if anyone in this group managed to find a genetic testing service that definitely covers rs9536314's genotype because 23andme used has stopped for some stupid reason and I can't gain access to the information needed in my raw da...

Re: Advanced Glycation/sRAGE

Do the recipes focus on grilled/roasted vegetables? Because they don't cause AGEs to form. High Fat + high temperature is the problem--so all meats in particular. That's also why raw nuts are healthier than roasted nuts, which contain AGEs. Hi Plumbster, I probably see it more in reference to grill...

Re: Whole Foods Plant Based Diet for Prevention

Thank you, Plumster. I will check out the seaweed products. Are there particular brands that are most reliably without contaminants? My arachidonic acid is below 2 - 2.3, which is far below the optimum. I do have enough linoleic acid, so I am not converting it to AA and need more from the diet... m...

Re: Whole Foods Plant Based Diet for Prevention

Thank you, Plumster. I do have questions that I hope you and others can address. I test for Omega3 status several times a year using OmegaQuant. I also recently got back test results from a Prodrome Scan. Both tests show that I have very low Arachadonic Acid (AA), far below what is considered optim...
