Re: Donanemab and Lecanemab

...because Lequembi was approved via accelerated pathway, is still in use by clinical trials, and requires participation in a health registry maintained by CMS, physicians are mandated to report adverse events while maintaining patient privacy to further the research. So, to my understandings the c...

Re: Donanemab and Lecanemab

Julie, the excerpt I shared is about 95% of an abstract (not a full article) published with other abstracts and available for $31 for 24-hour access, although I was able to print out a copy. I have seen "abstract only" articles used sometime to share information previously presented in co...

Re: Donanemab and Lecanemab

Thank you for sharing this, Nf52. Did you purchase the paper? I see it is behind a paywall. Also, have you seen this thoughtful article from STAT News? While it goes beyond just discussing just ARIA-H, it points out a disturbing lack of openness about the severity of side effects from the manufactu...

Re: Did Nebula Genomics test and am freaking out — looking for a genetic counselor I can speak with.

Thanks so much, this makes sense and is very helpful. It also told me that I have a very low genetic risk of a couple things that I actually do have and that run in my family, plus saying that I have very low risk for various things that go hand in hand with dementia (like cardiovascular problems) ...

Re: Donanemab and Lecanemab

Here is some recently published analysis about the risk of ARIA-H for ApoE 4 carriers, from the 18-month CLARITY trial of lecanemab in people with confirmed PET amyloid and a diagnosis of MCI or Mild Alzheimer's dementia. It refers to isolated ARIA-H, (i.e. microhemorrhages, superficial siderosis or...

Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

Nf52, thank you for replying and happy holidays! ... now we know, all you need to be a super-responder is to be treated early. That does not seem to be an overly special or restrictive characteristic for a patient.... Yes, i have a somewhat different take on the motivations to seek treatment in the...

Re: Has anyone else gotten the new Abeta 42/40 test?

Thanks everyone, for the helpful thoughts about Quest's 42:40 ratio test. I'm puzzled by their reference range. Here's what their report says about interpreting results: I haven't yet found the research on which this Quest test is based, so it's hard to know. ...I thought I'd check whether anyone h...

Re: Alzheimer's Disease Cured ! J11 Exclusive!

...The current treatment approach is to try and remove ~70 centiloids of amyloid over 18 months. As we relax this constraint we could go to removing ~30 centiloids over 5 years or 10 centiloids over 10 years... Into 2024 we are expecting yet more progress in which perhaps combinations will further ...

Re: Have you visited the ApoE4.info wiki lately?

The support interns introduce the ApoE4.info wiki to all the "newbies" but what about the "oldbies"? If you haven’t visited the ApoE4.info wiki lately, you’ve missed out on many updates. As an "oldie" in every sense of the word, I deeply appreciate this. I have enough ...

Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

With the recent realization that Lecanemab patients at or before early MCI stage are essentially expected to have a functional cure (~95% slowing of disease progression), I have become quite queasy about the ethics involved. I'm both surprised and happy that those of us on these trials will have ha...
