Re: AHEAD 3-45 STUDY CLINICAL TRIAL (LECANEMAB - BAN 2401)

I haven't posted since October 14th when I completed the 1B visit. It seemed to take longer than I expected for the results to be reviewed and approved. (It has only been 1 month, but it seems like a long time to me). I passed the cognitive and medical tests. I am now eligible for Visit 2 which is ...

Re: Virtual Meet-up (formerly called Book Club: The End of Alzheimer's Program)

I’d like to join the Virtual Meetup. I don’t see how to send you a private message with my email, however. So glad this resource is available - I was hoping for this exact thing - a book study of Bredesen’s book, TEOAP. LeahinTexas So happy you can join. I don't think that new users can send/receiv...

Re: DHA amounts

Not in T's or mine. But, we can guess that he has the data. He's only reporting a fraction of the metabolites he assesses in order to make a cogent report. He also acknowledged that because we're at the beginning of studying metabolites as they relate to brain health, we don't really know the impor...

Re: DHA amounts

Hi, I am not a frequent poster here, but I ran across something recently that may be of interest. LPC DHA transports DHA / EPA through Mfsd2a across the selective Blood-Brain barrier. The studies show great benefit for this type of DHA, especially for Apoe4 carriers. However, as far as I know, you ...

Re: Do Omega 3 Eggs have Phopholipids?

Curious if anyone knows if Omega 3 eggs have Omega 3 in Phospholipds form and how does that compare to Krill Oil? Saw a thread about it here, but still confused on the consensus. Given that the omega 3 in eggs is relatively low, my guess is that this would be a very inefficient way of getting the p...

Re: Lecanamab: Efficacy, Side Effects, and More

One area that is getting interest is the expectation that for better safety and availability, they may soon switch to subcutaneous dosing. Thanks for sharing, Nancy. I've been reading about this. This is good news indeed as E4 carriers have about a 25% likelihood of developing ARIA with the IV meth...

Lecanamab: Efficacy, Side Effects, and More

As promised in this thread, I'm creating a dedicated place where we can discuss all things Lecanamb. This seems to be a balanced report for those who are unfamiliar:

After promising data, experts say many questions remain over an experimental Alzheimer’s drug.

I look forward to learning more.

Re: Hope! Health/healing is in all of us, NOW. Documentary: Defying All Odds, Dr Wahls

Beautiful post, Theresa. We all enjoyed spending time with Dr. Wahls back in Denver. Her personal story is incredibly inspirational. I find it very telling that she switched from practicing mainstream medicine to functional medicine once that approach ending up saving her life. We need more physicia...

Re: AHEAD 3-45 STUDY CLINICAL TRIAL (LECANEMAB - BAN 2401)

I had suggested that maybe there could be two threads. One for the mechanics on what happens when joining the trial and another for all the scientific and medical detail under a lecanemab thread, not the adum thread. This is great idea, Chicagogirl. I'll start a new thread about lecanamab benefits/...

Re: AHEAD 3-45 STUDY CLINICAL TRIAL (LECANEMAB - BAN 2401)

Firstly, yes, ARIA in amyloid mab treatment is typically related to e4 carriage. Notably, with Lecanemab such ARIA on initial reporting (e.g., in the phase 2 trial) appears to be much lower in comparison to Aducanumab. Even more notably, the ARIA rates for those with e34 appear to be quite similar ...
