Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

Thanks, Theresa, for reiterating all of that. As soon as I read it, I remembered all of those details. But you have summarized it in a concise post that I will find easier to refer to. I appreciate your time and effort! My internist, who tested for the ApoE gene for me four years ago without me even...

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

Can anyone tell me or direct me to a place to find the answer for these questions: (1) Is sourdough bread made from starter (as in homemade or an old-fashioned bakery) okay on the AD diet? I am under the impression from my reading that the main reason grains are discouraged is because of their infla...

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

I've been trying to institute a ketogenic diet, but keep reading conflicting information -- it's healthy vs it's not healthy, it's safe vs it's dangerous, it's extremely hard to follow. My head is swimming. Thank you so much for that amazing explanation of ketogenic diets, the criticisms, and remin...

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

Hi Jan18, You crossed my mind today so I thought that I'd check in to see how your week has been. This forum is a great resource for both information and to ask questions. The quote below was posted in "musings on APOe4". I really like what it says. Carrie "Ski wrote: I'm going to st...

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

Hi Jan18 yes, it's understandable to be overwhelm at first and I can reassure you that overtime, you'll feel more confortable with your nutrition plan. If I may ? Try to look at how you feel after eating some foods. Like Dr. Deanna Minich is saying: being in tune with your body, increase your level...

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

Thank you, CarrieS. Just saw your post. I'm feeling so overwhelmed by the diet information. I have an appt. with a functional medicine doctor, as Bredesen suggests, but not until end of November. Until then, I've been trying to institute a ketogenic diet, but keep reading conflicting information -- ...

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

hi Jan :) Gundry = Plant Paradox Bredesen =End of Alzheimer's both recently published hence the confusion. Not the same person but there are many overlaps. Are you asking what diet Bredesen recommends? I think there is a section on that in the book. I havent read his book yet - because I am very fa...

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

Welcome, jan18. If you go to https://forums.apoe4.info/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=570&start=510#p34959 and scroll down to the matrix diet link, you'll find a copy of his recommendations. I believe for E4's his list is more restrictive, like no red meat. Theresa or Tincup can add more. The best way...

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

Theresa, Many thanks for your detailed and informative answers. I should have been more specific. I meant the new book out, The End of Alzheimer's. No wonder I was confused about exact foods! He mentions foods in general in that book, and some specifically, but I wanted a list of all specific foods....

Re: New, just read Gundry's book, questions

Hi Jan18, I am new to the information in Dr. Gundry's book, so take my advice with a grain of salt. After reading his book I stopped eating soy and soy milk. I seemed to be having a lot of mucous whenever I ate it and this got better when I quit. Even though he says chia seeds , pumpkin and sunflow...
