Re: Interesting new studies on Cancer to Sugar in-take connection
I feel a little awkward posting here because we’ve been traveling in a land of little internet, so I’ve not viewed Stavia’s post on AHS17 New Zealand (but I will when I get home), nor have I read the above mentioned article, but due to a close family member’s current fight with cancer and after atte...

But there isn't a dichotomy of vegan and keto. Just backing Stavia up here. My husband and I call ourselves "nearly vegan" because we eat mostly vegetables, nuts, avocados (a fruit), and olive oil with a little animal protein here and there (not every day) and yet we maintain ketosis for ...

What information do you have about snacking during the 8 hour window of a daily 16 hour fast? I have always eaten very small amounts but every few hours with a little larger portion breaking the fast and then again at my 6pm meal. Always food that is within the guidelines of Wahl's or Bredesen's di...

I've misplaced my notes, but I believe the Chaga is high in SOD and they say highly antiviral, A close family member is currently fighting cancer, so I've been reading the book, "The Metabolic Approach to Cancer" by Dr Nasha Winters and Jess Higgins Kelley. In the book there is a short di...

Re: Bredesen Protocol Fasting Questions
I read the book, "The Complete Guide to Fasting" by Dr Jason Fung with Jimmy Moore. What I learned is there are no hard and FAST (sorry, I couldn't help myself) rules regarding fasting. Fasting is simply not eating. There are many approaches: no water, yes water, bone broth, fat fasts, etc...

the grain-free tempeh is made from soy. Is that OK to eat? Yes, grain free tempeh is okay to eat even though it's made from soy, that's because it's fermented, fermentation destroys the lectins. As an aside, we also enjoy hemp tofu and hemp hearts for sources of protein. Since I don't have any bloo...

Welcome aboard, Heather. Learning my ApoE4/4 status has been life changing, but in a good way from everything I've learned and having this forum with other resources to feel empowered to forge a positive future for myself. I expect you will soon feel the same way. Sounds like you are already off to ...

Dr. Curatola says that for coconut oil pulling to be effective, you have to do it for 20 minutes. Yuck. I stopped coconut oil pulling, it wasn't the 20 minutes that was the issue, it was after I had to sneeze in the middle of the session. Talk about YUCK. Thanks for the info on Revitin. Will ...

Re: measuring waist size
Chrissyr, If you’ve read Stavia’s primer, she has waist measurement charts, https://www.apoe4.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1418#p15619 but you’re right, it doesn’t say where exactly to place the tape measure. I always thought it was where the sides curve in. If what you are really asking is ...

I have SCD going on at least 10 years, SCD? I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that. Does this stand for subjective cognitive decline? By the way, welcome. I totally get about not wanting to be a burden to the family. I can't help you with a Chicago doctor, but I do send hugs and wish you the best.
