Re: Resveratrol or Pterostilbene?

ApropoE4 wrote The only evidence is that resveratrol at supplement dosage is simply a very expensive anti-oxidant. I would be very curious to hear from a doctor who recommends it what they're basing the recommendation on. Dr Bredesen’s basis for resveratrol seems to be based on the reduction of Sirt...

Re: Greetings!

Welcome aboard hstapell. We will also see you in Boulder this August. In your post you asked: 6) GeorgeN, did you have a follow-up call with Gundry back in January? How did that go? The original write-up of your first conversation with him was extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to post...

Re: No vegans on this forum?

Victor, I became a vegan many years ago when my doctor wanted to put me on statins. Thank goodness my gut told me to avoid statins at all cost, I now know that statins seem to promote a type of amyloid process that leads to dementia. As a vegan I felt great, I really enjoyed being a vegan but I did ...

Re: New here and attending Ancestral Health Symposium

Welcome evelyanne, so happy to have you. We will see you at the AHS. My husband GeorgeN (3/4) and I (4/4) will be there, but we won't be staying in Boulder as we live about 21 miles south. My husband tells me so many positive things about Dr Wahls, she influences our diet every day.

Re: Any basics you can help with?

Ahh, JJ 007, you keep asking good questions. Are the lectins mostly to do with the heart or specifically linked to AD, as I'm (oddly) obsessed with the AD, but not too concerned re: the heart. Simplistically, lectins increase inflammation which is believed to lead to leaky gut (intestinal permeabili...

Re: Any basics you can help with?

JJ 007 wrote, The main thing I'm confused about is the lectin. So I've started eating walnuts, berries, veggies (all colours) like peppers, tomato, mushroom, cucumber thanks to Stavia, thank you thank you I feel good already xxx but..... (it seems like I should cut those down) due to the leptin. Or ...

Re: Any basics you can help with?

JJ 007, you asked: Lentils (and humous) still good? I hate to be a Debbie downer, but probably not. These are lectins, there appears to be a lectin-dementia connection, so some of us choose to avoid them. Lectins include grains, legumes, dairy, and plants of the nightshade family which are tomatoes,...

Re: Hello there

Welcome Grommet. It’s nice (?) to see a couple with more 4s than my husband and me. I’m a 4/4 and my husband, GeorgeN (a frequent poster) is a 3/4 who had a mother with dementia. Keep up the good work with the blood work and keeping active. We are also an active couple who have always maintained str...
