Re: Welcome!!!

Dear Mike and Dany, many thanks for your helpful replies, Since you are new, you probably aren't aware that if you don't quote someone, they won't know you've responded to them and may never see your response. If you go to our ApoE4.info wiki on "How-To" Get the most out of the ApoE4.info...

Re: LDN

Go to Forums and choose the appropriate one. For example for this type of inquiry, "Prevention and Treatment" would probably be best.

if you put LDN in the search function, you'll come up with many hits from previous discussions

Also, for future reference, posts like this don't belong in the "Announcements" forum.

Re: Donepezil for .... Anorexia Nervosa?

it does make one wonder whether perhaps there could be an e4 connection into this anorexia discovery. Of the many conditions that being an ApoE4 carrier is associated with, anorexia nervosa is not one of them. Also, mouse studies have limitations when applying to human application, they should alwa...

Re: Alcohol use for APOE3/4?

OK, more deep thoughts on this topic. If the apoe4 gene is a cholesterol metabolism issue, why would small amounts of alcohol be an issue for carriers versus non-carriers. First, ApoE4 is far more than a cholesterol metabolism issue. Granted, it used to be thought of as simply a lipid bucket, then ...

Little Empty Boxes – documentary by Max Lugavere on his journey to understand dementia

You may already be familiar with Max Lugavere, author of Genius Foods and his journey in trying to assist his mother with her diagnosis of dementia at a fairly early age. He just released a documentary, Little Empty Boxes I learned of this movie from an interview conducted by The Empowering Neurolog...

ApoE4 and amino acid metabolism dysfunction

I just came across this paper, Metabolomic and Proteomic Analysis of ApoE4-Carrying H4 Neuroglioma Cells in Alzheimer’s Disease Using OrbiSIMS and LC-MS/MS published by the American Chemical Society on 11 July 2024. It talks about ApoE4s having lipid disruption (nothing new there) and disruption in ...

Re: Alcohol use for APOE3/4?

Personal experience and opinions are all well and good, but what does the research say? Dr Rhonda Patrick (fellow ApoE4) recently posted (July 2, 2024) on her Found my Fitness website this video discussion Episode #92 The Truth about Alcohol, An evidence-based scientific review It comes with extensi...

Re: Charles Piller OpEd in July 7 NY Times

For those of us who do not subscribe to the NY Times, I did find this blurb about Charles Piller's upcoming book, Doctored: Fraud, Arrogance, and Tragedy in the Quest to Cure Alzheimer's scheduled to be available in February. Nearly seven million Americans live with Alzheimer’s disease, a tragedy th...

Re: Charles Piller OpEd in July 7 NY Times

Charles is the author of the Science article that exposed the Univesity of Minnesota’s fabricated images in their 2006 AB paper. He’s writing a book about the fraud, arrogance, and tragedy in AD research. We need more truth seekers like Charles. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/07/opinion/alzheimers...
