Re: NMR Data Sample

Hey Silver, no idea on cost. But, I do know that Dr. P recommends the Cleveland Clinic Oxidized LDL test. I'm sure either would be great and I agree. THAT is key for us to know.

Re: Diet Discussion

Circ, not sure what's going on, but my first thought- not enough fat. If I accidentally get my carb load too high- same thing happens here. I wake up in the middle of the night STARVING. It's only happened a few times for me, but I totally get you on that. I struggle with keeping weight on too. I'm ...

Re: Diet Discussion

Yeah, I was clear as mud  Sorry, I totally agree. I meant remove the whole grain pasta and bread, but most certainly KEEP the veg and fruit. For 4/4 me, that's still going to be low, below 75 grams a day. BUT as long as that's not starchy stuff, that's still a TON of veg and fruit- pretty much ...

Re: What are you eating day to day?

Interesting, Starfish. Your ratios now are amazing . I'm certainly NOT recommending any dietary changes, but wondered if you'd you seen the research indicating higher cholesterol levels in the elderly are associated with less dementia & less risk of all-cause mortality. Oddly, those same studies...

Re: Diet Discussion

JUST ORDERED. Thanks for the reminder :D I agree with your summation on diet, Circ. IMHO, those three show lots of promise. Take the carbs out of the Mediterranean (and NEVER cook with EVOO.) Watch out for too much SFA in the Paleo. And, be sure to get plenty of plant-based fats on the Vegan... and ...

Re: My List

You guys are too kind. I care deeply about this & actually enjoy reading the various studies and trying to interpret them. It's my version of crossword puzzles  supposed to help with neuroplasticity. Starfish, not sure I was in "dire straits," although I was quite unwell with vari...

Re: Lipid Results

Good luck tomorrow, Silver!!! I hate that things moved in the wrong direction, but you are blessed to know & to be able to tweak. THAT might be the "silverlining" :D of knowing our ApoE status. We are way more cognizant of this than we ever would have otherwise been. Let us know what r...
