AD Genetics Global Symposium: FREE Virtual Conference

Post by NF52 »

The NIH's National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association are providing a free virtual conference: Alzheimer’s Disease Genetics Global Symposium: Pathway to Translation with on-demand webinars covering a wide variety of topics available as of July 25, 2021, followed by a live Q & A with presenters on September 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM-Noon Central US time.

Having virtually watched several sessions on genetics at the 2020 AAIC conference, they typically are about 15 minutes each with explanation of key points using graphics. Some are more technical than others, but with a virtual conference, you can "leave" and pick another session anytime! Sessions include genetic research in diverse populations, including Africa and India.

This is a partial list of topics:

• Using genetic ancestry to identify risk-variants specific to ethnically diverse populations.
• Combining information across loci using genetic risk scores (GRS) or polygenic risk scores (PRS).
•APOE4, Ancestry and Clinical Implications
•Human Genetics of Cardiometabolic Disease — A Tool to Uncover New Biology and Enable Enhanced Clinical Care
• The Comorbid Effects of Cerebrovascular Disease and Genetic Risk in Alzheimer’s Disease
•Sex Differences in Alzheimer’s Disease and Implications for Precision Medicine
•Vascular Risk Factors and Cognitive Decline in Diverse Populations
•Modifiable Risk Factors for AD/RD
•Genetics in Drug Discovery: Cognitive Decline in Alzheimer’s Disease
•TREM2 and sTREM2 Signalling in Microglia
•Measuring Phosphorylated Tau in Blood as a Biomarker for Alzheimer’s Disease
•Modulation of Protective Microglial Activities in Alzheimer’s Disease
•Mechanistic and Dynamic Systems Modeling of Alzheimer’s Disease Across Lifespan
•Brain Proteomics Therapeutic Target and Biomarker Discovery
•Gut Microbiome Alterations Associated with Alzheimer's Disease
•Genetic Counseling and Testing for Alzheimer's Disease: A View from the Trenches
•From Gene Discovery to Clinical Translation: Ethical and Social Implications
•Finding Novel Targets in Alzheimer’s Disease Via Antibody Repertoire Analysis of Resilient Patients
4/4 and still an optimist!
