If this study interests you, have you read our wiki article Beneficial (and some negative) Plant/Natural Chemicals https://wiki.apoe4.info/wiki/Beneficial ... _ChemicalsLulu wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 8:33 am Very interesting study showing benefits for brain and gut health from Sesamol, a ligand from sesame seeds.

There are natural compounds with similar to better results and those results are not from mice studies.

Re: Sesamol
Thanks, Theresa, looks like a lot of good information, I'll have enough reading to keep me busy for a while, very helpful From my previous posts, you can see my focus and interest right now is mostly on fiber / pro and pre biotics / the gut -brain axis, and anything that helps contribute to the health of the microbiome. The article and information on sesamol is exciting to me, even if it's just a mice study. Wanted to share, since it could be something new and helpful to the Apoe4 community.
Have you heard of the book, Fiber Fueled by Will Bulsiewicz, MD, MSCI ? I'm just starting to get into it, very interesting as well.

Yes! The gut microbiome is so very important. I hear you about having too much to read and not enough time, but did you know we have a wiki on the microbiome too?Lulu wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 10:09 am Thanks, Theresa, looks like a lot of good information, I'll have enough reading to keep me busy for a while, very helpful From my previous posts, you can see my focus and interest right now is mostly on fiber / pro and pre biotics / the gut -brain axis, and anything that helps contribute to the health of the microbiome.
