Possibly protective gene & dietary

Post by atlantisw »

Hi,

1. This article suggests that rs5882 having at least one G allele can reduce the speed of memory decrease:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5586214/

2. This article (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6015254/) suggests that
The findings of this study indicated that individuals with the AG+GG genotypes of rs5882 exhibit a significant increment in HDL-C and reduction in BP with lower intakes of total dietary fat, MUFA, and trans-fatty acids compared to individuals with the AA genotype.
3. This article (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6530968/) suggests that high HDL might prevent brain from inflammatory and memory deficit.

Combining these three articles, it seems that rs5882 is protective as it increases HDL while lows bp when you eat healthy.

Thanks!
