My wife is also a double ε4 carrier but is apprehensive about undergoing HRT because of a perceived increased risk in getting breast cancer (her mother had cancer but was also a lifelong smoker). I’m curious what y’all think of this study and if the results are compelling enough to take this seriously. Thanks!

Hi Grommet,

The literature does indicate that Apoe4 carriers benefit from bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, and this latest study appears to confirm that. Have you seen the Natalie Rasgon Stanford Study that showed Apoe 4 menopausal women benefited from using BHRT?

Also, Dr. Ann Hathaway encourages women on bioidentical hormone therapy to improve the metabolism of estrogen by increasing intake of cruciferous vegetables, flaxseed and calcium d-glucarate, among other things. There is so much more to this. Perhaps take a look at Dr. Hathaway on youtube, or go to her site for more information, she is so knowledgeable on the subject.

Hope this helps!
