I am 50 years old and also have osteopenia. My calcium level is great, so I haven't increase my calcium intake (too much of it is also bad for the brain). I take vitamin D and K2.
I have vitamin C deficiency and recently discovered that this also has a huge impact on the bones. I tried to eat more food rich in vitamin C, ingesting the double of the recommended dose, but my numbers were still low. That's why I take now a supplement.
As dr Dale Bredesen likes to put it, AD is a network inefficiency. I suppose that part of this inefficiency has also impact on the bones (like calcium, vitamin D, K2 and/or C deficiencies).
Resistance training has also a great impact on the bones. It's one more strategy that we can use to improve our bone health.
