MIND CROWD & PRECISION AGING NETWORK (TRACK YOUR MEMORY)

MindCrowd® is the first online research project of its kind to study millions of individuals to help discover how to reduce cognitive decline and disease as we age.

MISSION - PRECISION AGING NETWORK:

The Precision Aging Network (PAN) brings together a team of established scientists, community partners in a nationwide effort to help discover the best ways to optimize brain health across the lifespan and extend our cognitive health span.

I joined the Mind Crowd site and completed the first 10 exercises in 14 days as asked. For each exercise they give you a score that show your most recent results for each game and how they compare to other people like you or can show you how your results for each game have changed across time.

There are a number of additional exercises available, but they have not been available to me yet. I don't know when they will make those available. At some point I will also be allowed to go back and take the first 10 exercises again, and then compare them to the first time.

I decided to do these memory tests to track my cognitive progress.

I picked up a flyer about the Precision Aging Network. It showed that: STEP ONE is Mind Crowd. STEP TWO is their Healthy Minds for Life Study that you may be eligible if you are 50 - 79 years old and live near one of the four PAN national study sites located in Tucson, Atlanta, Miami, Baltimore.

Just an update on participation on Mind Crowd.....

Received an email from them asking if I was interested in joining Phase 2.

It involved signing a consent and agreeing to prick my finger and donate blood drops. They did not say what they were using the blood for, but I imagine it was to determine APOE status.

Upon completing the consent, I was mailed a small envelope with a lancet device and a stick with a small sponge on the end of it. The sponge was hard and much smaller than a pencil eraser. Then you prop it up to dry for at least 3 hours before sending it back to them.

So now I wait again and wonder what was intriguing about my memory results so far.
