The only thing I ever received from my birth father is this gene. J have been changing my diet, increased exercise, and read Dr. Bredesen’s book. He has given me hope that I can reverse things while still in the early stages. I am thankful for him and finding this group.
I just sent you a private message--see the envelope icon in the upper right next to your name. We are happy to add you to the group next time we meet (no date set yet)!

The sensors do seem to work - they go up immediately when I put one near the dishwasher heat and they match to the outside humidity. The average reading in our house is 67% whether it's on the 1st floor, 2nd floor, or 3rd floor. We do have AC that we use in the summer. Do you think it would benefit us to get a dehumidifier and give it time to do its work in each room. I don't think a dehumidifier per room is realistic financially since this is a large house. Thank you so much for your suggestions!

A dehumidifier would definitely help. There are whole house dehumidifiers that can be installed in the HVAC system. Or you can use the smaller ones that you have to empty periodically. I don't think you would need one per room, but one per floor might be helpful. Maybe start with one and see how much it effects the humidity on each floor?

Remember to be dilligent about emptying the water (maybe more than once a day depending on the capacity and the humidity). It will shut off once it is full and then you get no benefit!

I'd like to be added to the meet up list please. Will we be doing any book clubs in the future or strictly meet ups?

HI Ron,

Thank you for your question. I hadn't seen the message about the meet ups so I too requested to be added to the distribution list. JML will see your request to be added to the list and you'll be sent a private message to join the zoom call prior to the scheduled date.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the forum but you can find and reply to any Private message (PM) by clicking on the mailbox icon next to your user name in the upper right hand corner of forum page.

If you haven't already checked out apoe4.info, as a Support Team Intern I'm happy to share several tools & resources to help you get the most out of your experience here. The Primer is a detailed and informative resource written by a practicing M.D. with ApoE4/4. It includes information about the biochemistry of the ApoE4 gene and offers a variety of research-based prevention strategies.

Some helpful tips to navigate the site include the How-To Guide. It includes topics such as navigating the forum, private messaging, and searching. One great tip is using the quote (") button when replying to a post. Using the button will automatically alert the member of your response.

Wiki Main Page contains a wealth of information.

If you are interested in learning more about other members check out Our Stories. Please post if you need any assistance, this is a very friendly forum and people and happy to help others find what they are looking for or just to lend an ear. If you haven't yet posted your story, please feel free to do so.
