I have been fasting 16 hours so I have two meals a day. Salad with salmon or chicken or bison. I have salt pepper and black berries raspberries strawberries plus eggs on my salad for lunch with veggies, either green bean, Brussels sprouts, or broccoli or a combo of both and salmon or chx for dinner. I have never craved sweets but since stating this diet I crave sweets and my fasting glucose are continuing to increase. I received my blood back and It shows high cholesterol in one area and elevates glucose’s in certain areas. The brendsen coaches are so expensive any additional support help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no formal medical training or as a health coach, but here are a few thoughts.

Do you happen to consume vitamin C relatively close in time and before you check your blood sugar? I ask as glucose monitors will see vitamin C as glucose, so you can get high readings from the meter.

How much fat do you consume? Though fat has a very small acute impact on insulin, it can raise insulin levels over the day (technically increasing the "area under the curve"), because it can induce insulin resistance.

Perhaps getting a free membership with cronometer.com and tracking your food for a week or so. Also checking glucose before each meal as well as an hour after as well as your fasting glucose. Once you've done that, we can look at the results and see if it telling us anything. As well, make notes about how long and how well you sleep each day, as a part of the data. I believe most or all of these can be tracked in the free version of cronometer as well.

Hi
So I had all my blood work done and a gut test

My testosterone and estrogen where off so assessing those
My cholesterol was a little high
My vit e was low and glutathione so taking supplements for that also
My wbc were very low

My gut test showed problems w absorption of protein and fat and very low stomach acid. They gave me an antibiotic to target my gallbladder directly and supplements to help.

Any additional advice on food or supplements based on these results.

I appreciate your responses.

Would an egg white protein powder be a good way to increase my non-meat protein? I have severe oxalate toxicity so most legumes and nuts are bad for me. Egg whites are oxalate free. Any problems with an egg white protein powder? Hemp is very high oxalate as well.
