Hello!
I'm so glad to have found you!

I am a 60 yr old female, diagnosed in 2023 with MCI -23 score. GENETIC TESTING - APOE4- Homologous
Lucky me! NOT
I am in several studies for new medications and tracking changes in my cognitive decline and changes in my brain.
I'm also involved in two discussion support groups one with DAI/DAA and the Alzheimer’s Association. In the latest meeting someone brought up the book, The End of Alzheimer's. I happened to have 2 copies of this at home. One of the participants said that they had noticed a difference in their cognitive abilities. So! I began reading it today.
I am full of inflammation, high LDL, cholesterol, blood pressure, suspected leaky gut, high sugar
Ugh.
Just saying.. it's all about to stop!!
Thanks for this site and helping all of us that need ot so badly!

Hello Lorainesjoy!

My name is Laurie and as a Support Team Intern, I would like to welcome you to this forum; we are so glad you joined us! You have found a very supportive and informing community here.

Thank you for sharing your information with us and may I say, I love your empowered attitude and spirit; especially your own words, "Just saying...it's all about to stop!!" YES!! That's the kind of spunk that kicking AD needs, and you've got what it takes!

In just one short post you have clearly displayed your love of learning, and determined strength. I commend your engagement with studies, joining support groups and reading Dr. Bredesen's book. Everything you are doing is setting you on the the right course for success in this health journey.

As you read through The End of Alzheimer's, I hope you become even more empowered by the lifestyle changes taught within its pages. These changes can be one of the leading factors in halting cognitive decline. So as you are tracking your cognition, you can also see it improve! And once you've implemented and maintain those lifestyle factors you can also see improvement or reversal of the other health concerns you mentioned.

Since you are new to this platform, we would like to invite you to share your own story, and what brought you to this site, when you feel comfortable. You can post that as a reply here, or in the Our Stories section.
You may also find it encouraging to read through other member's experiences in that section.

I also encourage you to take a look at some of our resources; here are a few links to help get you started and become more familiar with our site.

The How-To Guide will help you learn how to navigate this site. It includes topics such as navigating the forum, private messaging, and searching.

If you haven't already, it would be a great idea to also take a look at our Primer. It is an incredible resource of information about the biochemistry of ApoE4. It offers researched-based prevention strategies and was written by a practicing M.D. with ApoE4.

Now that you have engaged in this forum I am sure the conversations will continue and you will find the information and support you need from this community! Please reach out if you have any questions!

Kindly,
Laurie Sotro
