I noticed you live on the front range, we reside in Colorado Springs. Have you found a Dr that specializes in Apoe4/4 locally that we could get further testing on inflammation.?
Dan
Hi Dan,

Here's a link to several of our "wikis" that may help you. We don't personally verify these listings; but they offer some options for you and Lauren: Nancy

I'm a newbie to this site, but not to Alzheimer's articles. I read Bredesen's first book twice, adopting some practices and sloughing off with others. I respect Greger, Sinclair and others. I know there are differences of opinion.
My current questions span multiple issues. I'm particularly interested in products most participants favor, like toothpastes, mouthwash, and multivitamins. I'll stop there, and any answers are likely to generate more questions.

Thanks for posting again! Nothing like reading a useful book twice to really absorb what makes the most impact for you personally (probably not hormone replacement, for example, since you said back in 2020 that you were in your 70's--and possibly a "Stanley"?)

I'm not trained in Dr. Bredesen''s protocol, but I get to work with wonderful health coach interns who welcome people on this forum, many of whom have been trained as ReCODE 2.0 health coaches. I think they might say that the best answer is "it depends"--on what your goals are, any issues you have currently (gingivitis, dentures, dry mouth, sensitive teeth) and any testing you have done through your doctor or through direct-to-consumer labs to get an idea of vitamin levels. You can see some of the suggestions for those in Dr. Bredesen's book, and in Dr. Stavia's section in the Primer on Biomarkers.

What might bring you the most useful answers is to post a new topic on the Our Stories with a specific title that comes as close as you can to your biggest questions so our readers pick up on it. One example might be "Vitamins and Teeth Products for 70+ ApoE 3/4"
Here's a screen shot of how to start a new topic:

As someone also in her 70's, I know that I always have more questions than answer, so feel free to post them for us. We learn best from each other! Best wishes for a holiday season with memories and experiences that bring you joy.

Nancy

Hello wedwilson,

Welcome to the Forum and thank you for joining! I’m glad that you are finding the conversations and information here to be helpful. You will find that this is a supportive community and a useful resource where you can find a wealth of information. Please feel free to ask your questions or share your story if and when you feel comfortable to.

In the meantime, as a Support Team Intern, I’d like to share several tools & resources to help you get the most out of your experience. The Primer is a detailed and informative resource written by a practicing M.D. with ApoE4/4. It includes information about the biochemistry of the ApoE4 gene and offers a variety of research-based prevention strategies.

Some helpful tips to navigate the site include the How-To Guide. It includes topics such as navigating the forum, private messaging, and searching. One great tip is using the quote (") button when replying to a post. Using the button will automatically alert the member of your response.

Wiki Main Page contains lots of useful information and links to articles for a deeper dive into specific topics.

If you are interested in learning more about other members check out Our Stories.

Stay curious and feel free to reach out with any questions!

Warmly,
Helen
