Osteoporosis and Juvent

Post by JD2020 »

I watched a few minutes of yesterday’s FLCCC interview. At 7 minutes 42 seconds, the doc mentions Juvent. At 8:12 he says it is very good for bone density.

The device is here

https://www.juvent.com/health/

Does anyone here have any knowledge about the effectiveness of this device in treating osteoporosis? It is quite expensive and I do not want to invest if it doesn’t work or is only minimally effective.

Hi JD2020, I listened to a snippet of the video. Thanks for locating the pertinent info on the video timewise.
After watching that, I went to the Juvent website. I watched a few of the videos posted. Then checked the price. EXPENSIVE is an understatement!! Yeow!
They are arguing that this patented system that calibrates directly to your own body is superior to other vibration plates. I watched the water on the Juvent jiggling softly in the bowl, while on a whole body vibration plate, similar bowl of water splashed “violently”. I am not interested in reading further to see if in some way the micro impact of Juvent is superior.
Vibration in general is supposed to be helpful from what I’ve heard and read. A close friend of mine with osteopenia verging on osteoporosis was told by her doctor to get on the vibration plate every time she goes to the gym, because it will help strengthen her bones. Fortunately for her, the gym she goes to has a vibration plate. She loves it!
Just as we are often given the caveat about making generalizations about humans from mouse studies, I found the bowl of water demo unconvincing. I’m sure none of what is inside my skin would splash out on a vibration plate even if it were vibrating intensely. Admittedly, I did not watch or read all the material on the Juvent website. But before considering purchasing the ultra expensive Juvent, you might want to do more research on whether the common vibration plate (expensive enough, but 1/3 the cost of Juvent) would do the trick. I’ll be interested in anything you learn since I have osteopenia myself.

Thanks for the reply. When I posted, I didn't know that there are other vibration plates. Since posting, I've been doing additional reading and found this, which is about 1/2 of the cost.

https://marodyne.btt-health.com/

I read somewhere that it is EU approved for treatment of bone loss & a Canadian approved "medical device", but I'm having trouble finding that page now.

I have an appointment with my ReCODE doc on Monday, and I will try to remember to ask if she knows anything about these devices.

Yes, the cost is shocking, especially without a guarantee of substantial improvement. I will post back if I learn more.

Thanks, JD202. Yes, please do post if you learn anything more, especially if your doctor has an opinion about the value of vibration plates.

My doctor said that estrogen is the most effective way to increase bone density, and she is increasing mine. She did not have an answer as to whether a vibration plate would be helpful, but she said there is no harm in trying. She said that she has a couple of doctor friends don’t do much exercise who use this:

https://lifeprofitness.com/products/rum ... 7980892223

I just got off the phone with the company. This thing weighs 38.5 pounds. It is way bulkier and heavier than what I want to deal with. I don’t have a separate room for a gym or even a garage. It’s a big jump from $500 to $3,000, but $6,000 makes the $3,000 look not as painful.

I went back to the Juvent website and found this:

https://info.juvent.com/juvent-vs-marodyne/

They are making the argument that their product is better, but I don’t see anything that makes it twice as good.

I’m not concerned with the safety of this thing – I am not that fragile (yet). I don’t need to exercise on a vibration plate. I just want to give my bones the best shot at gaining density before this osteoporosis becomes mission critical.

This page provides Marodyne’s take on osteoporosis:

https://marodyne.btt-health.com/osteopo ... rodyne-liv

Marodyne device weights 17.85 lbs. Marodyne dimensions are 3 x 18 x 14 inches.

I just heard from Juvent by email. It weighs 21.5 lbs and is 21 x 23 inches. I prefer the smaller size.

I just sent an email to Marodyne to get more information such as exact cost and delivery expectations. I read some comments that said that product delivery was really, really slow.

So, for now, I am here: I wish that Rumblex was more compact. It will ruin the vibe of whatever room I put it in, and that will bug me every time I look at it. I am not excited about spending $3000 on anything, but if I use the device forever, then the cost amortized over hopefully many years is acceptable. I need to get a vibration plate because the downside of getting one and not improving bone density is much less than the downside of not getting one that would have helped. Also, my balance and coordination aren’t great, and maybe the plate would help with that.

Additional tidbits that I gathered this morning:

This says that Marodyne is a “class IIa medical device” per the British Standards Institute,
https://mybones.health/liv-device/

but I’m not sure that that means much. Page 4 of this https://www.bsigroup.com/globalassets/m ... -uk-en.pdf seems to indicate that all that means is that there is certain production and documentation requirements that were met. I don’t see anything about proof of effectiveness.

This says that it is recognized by the EU to “prevent and combat osteoporosis”

https://www.healtheuropa.com/low-intens ... ic/114429/

but again, I wonder if that means much. This link says that the device was approved to export to the EU.

https://www.prweb.com/releases/marodyne ... 032447.htm

I wonder if approval to export somehow became “recognized to prevent and combat osteoporosis.

I emailed FLCCC and asked if there was a specific reason why Dr. Marik recommended Juvent instead of a less expensive machine. The response was friendly and professional but did not provide an answer to my question. The Marodyne and Juvent machines began with the same researchers and seem reasonably similar. If he thinks Juvent is the best, maybe Marodyne is good enough.

New info:

Tincup’s 5/28/22 post here

viewtopic.php?t=8087&start=30

links to this machine

https://www.vibrationtherapeutic.com/li ... plate.html

which Amazon is selling for $400. The footprint is a little bigger than Marodyne, but I will deal with that to save $2,600. I think I’m going to get this one.

If you scroll down on Amazon's page, it has information re the L-Squat for the femoral neck, which my doc said was the first point of concern for people with osteoporosis.

Thanks so much for posting all of this information and the links. I’m not ready to buy “one more thing I don’t have room for ” right now but I appreciate your sharing your research and putting the information all here in this thread. If you do purchase a vibration plate please let us know how you like it how it works for you. Hopefully you’ll get stronger bones!
Reading the Juvent information, I had the same reaction you did which is that the safety concerns they raise didn’t seem to apply to me.

It will be a while before I know if there is any impact on the osteoporosis, but I want to share something that was a surprise and perhaps useful for those with poor circulation. The circulation in my feet has never been good, and they are always a sort of weird red color, going to purple when they get too cold. My feet are now white. I thought it might be my imagination, but my daughter came home for a visit and noticed! Again, I am posting in case this is useful for anyone else.
