Homocysteine and omega-3 - example of 2 holes in the roof

Post by Quantifier »

I found the following abstract (paper is pay-walled): Omega-3 Supplementation for the Prevention of Cognitive Decline in Older Adults: Does It Depend on Homocysteine Levels? It is a clinical trial with omega-3 supplementation, but afterwards the researchers looked back at the participants' homocysteine levels at the beginning of the trial - those with levels below 16.6 umole/Liter improved in cognitive performance with supplementation, whereas those with higher levels worsened. Just an example that the many holes in our metaphorical roofs interact with one another.
