I found a local health care professional (a chiropractor) certified in the ReCODE protocol. After a lot of tests (blood work first, then neurological exam in his office), he came up with a plan of treatment. I was shocked at the cost, and needed to know more before I signed up. I asked for an itemization of the costs instead of one big number.
The biggest item was 11 IV treatments called NAD/Fast Vitamin. I had not heard of this before. I found a YouTube interview with Dr. Craig Koniver in Charleston, SC, who developed the treatments over a period of years. It sounds good. Then I came here to see what others thought about it. But a search on this site turned up nothing. I wonder if this is even part of ReCODE. I went to this Apollo-certified specialist expecting he would check all the ReCODE boxes, but this man seems to have gone off in his own direction. Before I drop $10K+, I want to make sure I am at least getting what is recommended by Dr. Bredesen.
Any and all comments and recommendations are welcome.

Re: NAD/Fast Vitamin IV Nutrition
This is a great question Walt! Do you have your ReCODE report? If you had it would probably recommend that you take a supplement called Nicotinamide Riboside. I just looked at two clients with recent ReCODE reports and both reports recommend Nicotinamide Riboside which is a precursor to Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD). Also in the book the End of Alzheimer's Disease it is recommended that everyone should consider taking Nicotinamide Riboside. There are several different ways to take this supplement. Here is an article which nicely summarizes NAD https://draxe.com/nutrition/nad-supplement/ and the different forms . Both this article and the ReCODE protocol recommend taking it in supplement format. That said, IV treatments are a faster and efficient way to get the supplement directly into the bloodstream in order to realize a faster benefit. So I would suggest going back to this practitioner and asking what their reasoning is for giving NAD to you in IV format. What blood or other tests are indicative that you need this supplement via IV. Then you will need to decide if it is something you can afford and want to do. I myself do a routine IV high dose Vitamin C treatment at least monthly as a cancer preventative (breast cancer 4.5 years ago), as a boost to my immune system and some light detoxing. It is expensive but I have a very specific reason for going with the IV. That said, these procedures are a revenue generator for some practitioners so I can appreciate your taking a closer look at this recommendation.

Re: NAD/Fast Vitamin IV Nutrition
Thank you, Sara. I don't know that I have seen a ReCODE report. If that is a standard document given to every patient after going through all the tests, it would be shocking if I didn't receive it, right?
Apparently the NAD is better absorbed through IV. I haven't seen anything that would advise against it, but if it is not specifically indicated by my results, I think I should be cautious because of the expense.

Himwaltezell, sorry I did not see your post and this thread earlier. Do you have a subscription with Apollo Health? You would have either a ReCODE or PreCODE account. Apollo Health has worked hard to be sure that what they call “rogue practitioners” are not just using the word ReCODE to sell their own plans which are distinct from Dr Bredesen’s, capitalizing on his name and work.. I’m not suggesting that is true of the practitioner you saw, but it it is something to be aware of. Most, if not all, ReCODE Practitioners would run your lab work through the sophisticated ReCODE software to generate a ReCODE Report, which then guides the treatment.waltezell wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 9:47 pm Thank you, Sara. You might ask the practitioner if he is ReCODE 2.0 Certified. In the near future, Apollo Health will not be recommending any practitioners who have not taken the most recent 2.0 training.
Now, with all that said, I do know of at least one excellent certified ReCODE Practitioner who uses IV NAD for some of her ReCODE patients,
One of her patients I spoke with told me that she ( the patient) loves the IVs of NAD and after she gets the IV, she feels like she could run a marathon.
