Online RECODE practitioner with affordable prices

Post by Maria4/4 »

Hello,

I am trying to follow the protocol by myself but I have a lot of doubts and need help to refine my blood work and supplements stack.

In my country there isn’t any practitioner with the RECODE certification.

I tried one in a country nearby but the prices were completely out of my league.

Do you recommend a practitioner that works online and has affordable prices?

Thanks a lot,

I hope you can find the help you need. I'm sorry I cannot recommend a practitioner. I'm a 4/4 do-it-yourselfer, have been for many years. Maybe someone who sees this can.

In the meantime, I can direct you to some resources from our wiki:

Hi Maria,
which country are you in? Now with telehealth and zoom consultations you could access more affordable health practitioners in different countries. By the way, Im in Australia. I’ve found some good help that isn’t so costly with family doctors who have decided to specialise in different areas. For example, I have a family doctor who only sees menopause patients. There’s another one I see who has incredible cardiovascular knowledge and is up with the latest on cholesterol and low carb living (and not trying to put me on a statin).
I’’m 3/4 and have read Dr Bredesen’s book over and over again for the last 5 years. I agree, it’s a real challenge to go it alone and try to do all the things. I recently bought Dr Bredesen’s 2 new books, for renewed inspiration. Even after 5 years I’m still forgetting to do some of the things, and it’s like we are fighting that uphill battle every day to stay one step ahead. I’ve been meaning to start a spreadsheet for so long now to record all my results and work through each step. I find listening to a lot of youtube contributors (like Dr Andrew Huberman, Dr David Sinclair, Dr Steven Gundry and of course any interviews with Dr Bredesen) to serve as reminders and inspiration to implement ideas into daily living. I recently searched on APOE4 and downloaded any podcasts on the subject to listen to while I do housework etc). I found Julie Gregory’s podcast (of this website) to be so interesting and insightful. I hope these tips help. I find different prompts (reading/watching/listening) keep me able to implement as much as I can. Even finding some others in your circle whom you can share tips with serves as a reminder to yourself to keep doing the right things. I hope I encourage you to become your own expert and keep up the motivation to live a preventative lifestyle, even when it feels like you are going overboard or people think you are worrying unnecessarily. We know ourselves what we are capable of, and when things aren’t right. Don’t let anyone take that power away from you.

We've discussed Dr Goodnowe a few times, here's a search result: search.php?keywords=Goodnowe&terms=all& ... mit=Search

There are also two ApoE4.info podcasts with him including show notes:
Dayan Goodenowe, PhD: Plasmalogens & Neurological Health (Part 1)
Dayan Goodenowe, PhD: Plasmalogens & Neurological Health (Part 2)

Hi "Trying to be Healthy",
First of all, I am sorry it took me so long to reply to your lovely post, but the last couple of months have been crazy at work so I didn't find time to open apoE4.info website.

I really loved your post because it seems we feel the same things e we are also trying similar strategies.

I am a huge fan of Andrew Huberman. I also see a lot of youtube videos from other doctors/scientists: Dr. Mindy Pelz is very good for fasting and gut health tips, Mark Hyman, MD is like the father of functional medicine, Dr Brad Stanfield is very good at analysing studies, Dr. Pradip Jamnadas, MD is a cardiologist that started curing his patients with diet and supplements, Dhru Purohit is a great communicator and interviews great guests (I loved this podcast about AD https://youtu.be/3VxkHiQFeJw). I will try the other podcast you recommended. I am sure I will love them. If you find new ones, please share them. It's great to be up to date with different kind of information.

I have learned a lot and I am trying my best to stay healthy 😀 although some days it's easier than others and I know that I still have so much to learn!

The most difficult part is still with doctors, but things have improved also in this area.
I found a great gynecologist. She is pro hormones and she also works in an hospital dedicated to cancer. She is a traditional doctor, but she has good knowledge and she pratices in a clinic close to my home, at very reasonable prices.
It was more difficult with the other hormones. I know that my thyroid is not performing well because of the results of my blood work and my DHEAs is so low. I tryed several conventional doctors, but they said I am fine and didn't want to help me. One of them said if I am worried about my APOE status, I have to see a neurologist (I already did it one year ago and she said I probably had AD and she couldn't do anything for me.). Finally I found a functional medicine doctor that is also specialized in hormones, and she is trying to solve my thyroid issues with supplements and gave my a DHEA supplement.
I also found a functional/bio dentist. I discovered I had mercury in my mouth and I am going to remove it at the end of the month. I also have other problems with my teeth that I plan to solve during this summer.

I also worked a little bit in reducing my toxic load. I have now a filter for my water and I don't use Nespresso capusules anymore because of the aluminium. I also dye my hair and I am now using a very natural product.

Like you, I want to read Dr Bredesen’s book one more time to see what I can do to improve even more my health.

This is really a lot of work. Sometimes it's difficult to find time to implement one more thing of the protocol, but with a lot of baby steps we are able to improve our health and reduce our risk of AD day by day 😁

Once again thanks for your lovely post. I don't know how my mental health would be without the support of people like you in this forum.

If you fee I can help in any way or if you just want to chat, don't hesitate to contact me (by the way, I live in the south of europe in a beautiful country by the sea and I really would love to visit Australia... it's one of my dreams)
